Wow. You are making this analogy much more complicated. You go to work (leave your home/family) to make money.

It is a flawed analogy.

If I was happy with how a discussion about the future with my boss went, I certainly wouldn’t leave my job, and move to a new city, for just a little bit more money.

This seems less plausible to me than my theory, but you could be right that bama bought him.

This is an irrelevant question.

Uga passed for the 4th most yards in the nation this year, so it didn’t work out for him.

The question was about PT, not starting. There is a difference.

Bama now gets the UGA hand me downs

In all honesty, I really like Marshall and that is a good player that Bama is getting

Lol
You think portal transfers are getting a little bit more money?
Portal is free agency. Limited supply of talent drives up the money.

Not to have discussions with your boss about the future.

Trezman isn't like most other transfers.
He rotated with the 1s. First inside linebacker off the bench on a football team known for rotating linebackers off the bench.
But he isn't better than Smael.
His ceiling is Channing Tindall (he has a long way to go to reach that. I think he could at UGA). Like Tindall, he is behind a better player. But reps are split 60/40 between them. 65/35 in some games.
Bama is willing to spend the money to pull him from his team.
We will see if he is Burton 2.0 (pretty good. But probably not better than he could have been in Athens).

Did Burton not get a lot of snaps in 2021?

Burton was hurt at UGA.

Players don't enjoy being hurt at UGA.
Most of the friction between players and staff relate to hurt players.

Monken likes to spread the ball around. There'd be 8-10 different receivers catching a ball every game. He wasn't getting the stats he needed. I'd assume he thinks the NFL pays more attention to stats than abilities.

Don’t delude yourself that every player leaving UGA is running from UGA, most are not.

I would say (based on the comments of players) that the vast majority of guys leaving UGA are doing so regarding playing time.

Cade Mays (who went to you guys) was one of the few where that wasn't the reason, but so far he's been the exception, not the rule.

You should be.

He was good and did play a decent amount but nos as much as (I'm sure) he would have liked. But there is no denying he had others ahead of him on the depth chart.

Burton was injured a good bit in 2021. When he got healthy towards the end of the year, McConky was taking his snaps because he was playing better. I would imagine he felt jilted.

UGA just signed 3 elite ILBs in Raylen Wilson, CJ Allen and Troy Bowles. They have Mondon & Dumas Johnson ahead of Trez.

Trez looked at the LB room and realized his playing time wasn’t increasing and that he could even be overtaken by one of these 3 freshman.

This was a business decision. Playing time, tape for NFL - and I am sure more NIL from Bama than he would have gotten from UGA - as his role and playing time will be more prominent in Tuscaloosa.

Now do per game numbers. Bennett averaged 275 yards a game with TEs and RBs accounting for half his yardage. No wonder an WR said no thanks to that.

Burton got the 2nd most snaps for WRs in 2021. 388. The original post I replied to was trying to imply that he couldn't get on the field enough for UGA, so he came to Bama. My point was he was seeing the field plenty at UGA, so that wasn't the reason.

Cade Mays was never a starter.

He platooned RG with Ben Cleveland.
And he filled in at every position on the OL when an injury arose.
He was never a starter at any of those positions in the sense that it was his job.
(Yes... he got lots of starts, but above explains the circumstances).

Whatever happened to Cade Mays dad - aka “pinky” aka “icanonlycountto9”?
