Transfer "Points" (not entirely sure how this figure is put together but if you are low on returning minutes you'd want to be high here)
1. Arkansas (306)
2. Texas A&M (217)

Not sure how A&M is so high here. They have 3 transfers who have done basically nothing on the college level, then a guy from Wyoming who played a lot this year.

I'd guess (and it's strictly a guess) that he has some sort of algorithm to project transfers that has a sliding scale of performance at last stop, age and possibly initial recruiting ranking.

I mean it's gotta be some weird arse formula.

Their 4 transfers:
Ethan Henderson - did nothing in 3 years at Arkansas
Marcus Williams - starter as freshman, 15ppg, good player seems like
Javonte Brown - played in 2 games for 4 minutes at UConn as freshman this year, was barely Top 200 recruit
Henry Coleman - barely played at Duke as freshman this year, averaged 1 pgg, #55 overall recruit year before

Doesnt really seem that conclusive to a really high transfer rating

Yea, agreed, it doesn't make much sense.

Either way, it doesn't seem to think much of those guys + the returning guys for the Aggies

It’ll be interesting to see how team chemistry is going forward with the roster changes due to the transfer portal.

By February Bama and Auburn should almost flip spots from what they're ranked here

All the polls are basing everything on what was or wasn't done this past year. A year of Covid and a year where the traditional Powers were all down. This next season will be totally different and you will see things back to the status quo.

Like Duke, UCLA, Kansas, Michigan State and Kentucky all in the Top 16?

Yep, agreed, this seems to nail it

There are still a few difference makers who have not found a home yet. Seems crazy to be in summer break not knowing where you will be attending school in the fall, not to mention summer workouts, etc.

With that re-emergence of the traditional power come the slippage of the new players. Look at the SEC this year. It would have looked totally different with the traditional UK and UF teams. Throw in a decent AU team and the league wouldn't have sucked as bad. Same with the ACC and Big 12.

Looks like for the most part the SEC is just going to elevate the top 1/2 of the league. Probably won't have anyone go 16-2 in the league, but the quality of the teams in the top half will all be better as a whole.

13-5 might win the league this year.

Florida is going to be a traditional Florida team this year. #6 or #7 seed in the NCAA Tournament, 11-7 in the SEC.

I mean, if Kentucky had been good last year it may have shifted some things around at the top but everyone who made the tournament still would have made the tournament even if you switch their wins against Kentucky to losses. And Florida is not Billy Donovan Florida anymore. They're Mike White Florida, which means not bad and not great. Their season last year was a pretty standard Mike White team.
