Pick guitar, fill fruit jar and be gay-oh

Sounds like Louisiana.

How do you leave Skynyrd off that list?

Because I don’t care for that song?

21. Poke Salad Annie - Tony Joe White

The only Tony Joe White song I like better than Poke Salad Annie is "They Caught the Devil and Put Him In Jail In Eudora, Arkansas."

Next day a crowd had gathered out in front of the Eudora jailhouse but there was not a trace to be seen of the Devil.

awesome song

one of my favorites ever

it's about the Mississippi River

Yes, the Mississippi River is not at all part of the state of Louisiana and the city of New Orleans. And the lyrics that say "Just take that street car that's going uptown" isn't at all about New Orleans. Dumb arse.

In the offseason, when there is no football, this would be a great topic. I think you should do all the SEC states, in the offseason, when there is no football.

Not trolling. This thread actually turned out pretty good and I think it would be an excellent exercise in February to do it for all SEC states. It was a good idea. Save it for when we need it.

upvotes for everyone

Mississippi would be good, as would Alabama and Georgia

Kentucky might be good

Arkansas has a bunch of talent, but not many songs about us

Tennessee would just be a bunch of cutesy corporate Nashville BS

Texas thread would be insufferable - already searched Jerry Jeff Walker for a Louisiana song, and didn't get any hits. Love Jerry Jeff.
