Honors and remembrance to all our Brothers who aren't here!

The rest of us will have our time on Vets Day in November.

To everyone else thank you for paying your taxes.

This Day is for those that cannot say thank you.

Those that gave they're all.

To those, I say thank you.

Edit: didn't mean to sound dickish......just a pet peeve.
Yeah. And there a lot here that have loved ones that have died for this country. It would take a longer post to thank all their relatives.

I appreciate the thought but as previously stated this is not our day, this is a day to honor those who have fallen.

May God bless those that have served our country and fallen in battle, may God also bless and keep their families. I for one appreciate everything that our armed services have done and do for us.

I have friends who fought, but didn't die, in battle. The service still attributed to their deaths.

Combat can take something out of you, but the infantry can kill you just from the wear and tear on your body over the years.

Lost another close friend yesterday in Fayetteville, NC - it was definitely service related. He'll be buried on Monday and I'll be there.

Yeah, I get that as I have family members who are in the fallen category along with two of my very good friends. I saw a thread thanking those who served and so I thanked them as well. Today isn't Veteran's day and I don't feel I need a special day to say thank you, so yes I am somewhat offended by your pet peeve, but I will make it okay and sure you have your own personal reasons for feeling the way you do. thanks

Offended by his pet peeve?

Look dude, thank the troops, vets, and KIA, POW, and MIA any day you'd like. But saying "because it's Memorial Day weekend I'm going to thank the vets" isn't within the spirit of the holiday. I love America every goddamned day of the year, but you don't hear me saying "because it's Easter, I'm going to sing the National Anthem." It just doesn't make sense.

ETA: That said, never forget the cost of freedom.
