These players owe nobody anything.
Did they build all of the facilities and pay for the expert training in their fields themselves?

These players owe literally everything they've received after high school graduation to these institutions, its staff, and their teammates. Jackoffs like you that preach this notion that it's ok to quit on people who've helped build them into the pros they want to be are the problem. It's a microcosm of this "frick everyone else, me first" mentality that's pervading literally everything now.

"Team" and honoring your commitments like responsible men mean nothing now. That's exactly why we idolize men like Kobe, Dirk, and Larry Fitzgerald. Any punk arse can quit and leave when it's not fun anymore or it gets hard and all the lights aren't on you anymore. That's not a trait to be praising.

Upperclassmen: buy-in and opportunity for another NC

Underclassmen: scholarships are awarded on a one year basis

LSU beat Florida with a ton of players not on the field. Players missing is an excuse. Plain and simple.

I can understand projected day one or even projected day two picks opting out. I don't understand when projected day three picks opt out like that Georgia offensive lineman. What's even the point? He's not going to get a contract that will set him up for life and is time at Georgia will likely be the peak of his football career. Why not enjoy every moment in college until it ends?

Bama players know Saban will rip their arse for the NFL pre evals and it won’t hurt his brand. Other coaches are more afraid of the negative publicity....,..and the Bama players aren’t ready to stop that monthly check.

How many OU players “opted out”??
I guess it just means more in the BIG12.

Laughing at the SEC apologists blaming opt outs for your second best team getting trashed on National TV.

Actually they should quit using the term “opting out”. Call it what it is “Quitting”
It is saying “I Quit”.

I would like to see the NFL start penalizing players for quitting in college. Drop their draft status. If I was a GM I would hesitate to draft a quitter.

Why even sign a scholarship if you are not going to hold up your end of the agreement?
At one time, you could not keep a player off the field. Now they don’t want to play. Really?

Give me an Errol Thompson at MIssissippi State all day long. He quickly said I am playing when he asked about it. He will be playing on Sunday next year. I guarantee you he will be a very good LB in the NFL because he is a gamer and answers the bell every time out.

NFL has a better postseason. Zero meaningless games.

You are a moron. It's impressive how consistently shitty your takes about everything are.

This is how playoffs work. They expand endlessly (playoff creep) and they ultimately devalue what happens during the regular season. This is why the NBA and NCCAB have completely mundane regular seasons that mean jack shite outside of tournament seeding. This is why a 6-loss Giants team can beat an 18-0 Patriots team and be "world champs" (even though they had already lost to them previously). It's all a farce.

You don’t think missing 6-7 starters hurts a team...hell, y’all had one starter out and LOST to the Irish!

Lol

You dont know Ben Cleveland.
1) he enjoyed 5 years in athens.
2) he will be 8+ years in the league. He is not a "do everything" offensive lineman. But what he does well will be at an All Pro level. In the right team, he will play as long as he is healthy.

This, can’t blame our guys for not risking injury at this point. We play for championships or to get paid once championships out of play prep for draft

College football is full of quiters. Selfish assholes that only care about themselves while playing a team sport. Thug football is what the sport has become.
