Did we even recruit him? I don't remember any coverage of us even trying to get him.
We offered him and I think Lebby spoke to him once but Kiffin never had any interest from my understanding. He probably knew it wasn’t worth the time or effort.

It was known for a long time by people that know the family he was going wherever Sark was. They had a great relationship starting when he was at Bama. Georgia was the only real threat to land him besides Texas

With Media Days, there will actually be something to write about instead of lazy articles like this.

As a Georgia alum, I apologize for the lack of moving violations and therefore off season topics this off season.

Ole Miss didn't miss out on Arch Manning. Arch Manning missed out on playing for Playoff Pete.

Neither holds a candle to Lane Kiffin's idea that Ole Miss can't win a NC. Sometimes, mediocrity is just thrust upon the chosen few.

They threw a fit until the Chargers traded Eli after being the first pick in the draft. They aren't that old school.

I didn't know Ole Miss was even in the conversation for him. But, I don't follow recruiting much. But I always thought his recruitment was way over the top for an unknown, coming from a small private school background.

We hardly recruited him. I think we offered and that was pretty much it. That's why the article is "brain dead."

Whether or not Ole Miss was really in it, it was more than just an offer. Arch visited several times, including a camp prior to his commitment. I don't think Lane took the recruitment seriously. It was unlikely, but it's not like he never spoke to or visited Ole Miss.

Lane also preferred Jaden Rashada. Jaden's older brother Roman was actually on the Ole Miss team for the '22 season and Ole Miss had a nice package put together. Florida overpromised and under elivered.

I mean I'd take Chambliss over Arch today. Who wouldn't? It's just clickbait. Interesting that Pete was Arch's primary recruiter at Bama.

Well one committed to Pete and the other didn’t flip when Kiffin left and has stayed committed to Pete.

They weren’t fooled by the snake oil salesman.

Lack of purse snatching in the quad hasn’t helped either.

Kiffin didnt develop high school QB kids. He relied on Coral who had been there for 2 years. Then transfers. Simmons he developed and the kid was an interception machine. I know the kid will do well at Missouri and hope he does. He’s a good kid. Kiffin wasn’t interested in high school kids. Not at the QB position. He wanted seasoned transfers. Nothing wrong with that but let’s not act like this was a recruiting battle.

Basically, missing out on Arch Manning has been detrimental to the Ole Miss program.

Why didn't Ole Miss try to keep Austin Simmons before he decided to go to Missouri?

That might be a red flag since Lame Kiffin wasn't counting on staying at Ole Miss for Arch to be the starter and get drafted afterwards.
