There's a 10 million dollar difference in signing bonus between the 5th pick and 12 pick, genius

Yeah, don't give a shite how much they make. I'm a fan, not their agent. I've never seen a dime of it.

Crying about a guy not getting a 10 million signing bonus is just fricking weird. I just hope players make it on good organizations so I can watch them do well.

No they really are really not. He plays tight end. Why would a team waste a 1st rd pick when you can get great tight ends in later rounds?

He isn't a traditional tight end, though.

He lines up as a 2nd TE (split out, HBack, sniffer).
He lines up end of line.
He lines up as X.
He lines up in the backfield as a running back.

Any team that plays 2 TE could literally do anything they want with him.

He was primarily the motion man for UGA. I don't expect that to continue in the NFL (4.3 forty guys traditionally carry that responsibility).
But he provides positional variability to adjust gameplans from week to week or at halftime for an OC

I'm no fan of Georgia but you have to recognize greatness when you see it. Now that he's not a Dawg, I'll pull for him in the NFL. As long as his injury has healed he'll be drafted high and will do well.

You mean he's a slot receiver?

Hey, you do you. I just couldn't imagine being upset because a player missed out on 10 million dollars.

I'm not looking for your approval, not sure why you are looking for mine. I think it's fricking weird.

Bama and UGA have running electronic trackers tabulating player salaries in their buildings.

It sells while recruiting to high schoolers.

You sound obtuse. Like you live in a town without internet.
But you are here.

Meh. He's lazy and chose to join a super team to pad his stats.

I would say that if Bowers isn’t the best player in the draft regardless of position then he is certainly isn’t far out of the running.

Bowers fricking sucks arse, he'd be a waste if taken with a top 31 pick.

I agree with the title of this post, but not so much with the content comparisons. The real question I would ask is how high would you draft Kelce or Gronk if you could go back in time. That is Bowers. He is an Elite, must have. If you don’t need a QB then you need Bowers.

The money is actually the reason Bowers won't go super early. NFL draft money is essentially set before hand by draft slot. Top 5 picks get the same or slightly less than the top 10 TE in the NFL get. The #10 pick? That's more like the #23 TE in the NFL.

Due to TE's not being paid as high as other positions in the NFL, it is a bad business move to draft a TE before pick 8 or so. A miss higher than that is a much bigger blunder than missing a QB.

The #1 pick will only get the 22nd highest QB salary, tied with Sam Darnold at about 10 million a year. There is a reason the high money postitions will go at the top of the draft, and it's not all about ability. It's more about economics.

People want to compare him to Kyle Pitts, but Kyle Pitts runs stiff like a tight end. Brock Bowers runs loose like a wide receiver.

Fair or not, Pitts sucking balls and being a colossal bust is going to hurt TEs in future drafts.

That GT game for a TD on a slant and outrunning the safety is damn impressive.

It’s not often I see a player who stands out enough to promote him on this board but he’s one of them. I think he’ll be a big 3rd down difference maker for someone in the pros. Those types of players are huge for an offense.

Kelce, Gronk, heck even Aikman said losing Novachec was the biggest loss Dallas had because his go to 3rd down guy was gone and they couldn’t replace his talent for it.

I think he’ll do well.

I really do think that's part of it. Pitts to some extent fricked it up for future tight ends in the draft.

Then, the other guy made a good point about the salary scales and not wanting to invest that much money in any tight end, which I hadn't thought about.
