If you're living anywhere south of Panhandle and Gainesville, then you're the one living in yankee land.....lol. 2/3 of Florida is overrun with yankees, its just freaking New York South. Unfortunately even in the panhandle and redneck riviera, it's slowly being invaded by Yankees. Years ago redneck riviera was the south's best kept secret and then some folks decided to tell their way up north yankee relatives in Michigan or one of the other forsaken northern states about our great white beaches and that they no longer had to go to Ft Lauderdale or one of the other infested south Florida Beach towns.

Yep, you've got 80 deg weather right now but you have to live around all those new Yorkers lol

I effed up and did laundry in my 80 year old renovated house.

The drain for the washer is in an exterior wall and is apparently frozen. My laundry room is now flooded.

I’m in New England and we still have piles of snow on the ground from last week. I look at these pictures and chuckle.

I posted a couple pics on the OT a couple days ago - already an icy mess in Austin, TX. 5-8 inches of snow expected overnight, and no temps above freezing until Wednesday probably.

Since Austin is a bastion of progressive enlightenment and champions causes like the Green New Deal, and since most of Texas' power is produced from fossil fuels, I wonder if those forward thinking Austinites will do the right thing and turn their power off tonight?

yankee relatives in Michigan

Michigan is Midwest. Not really “yankee”. They’re the closest thing to southern folk compared to the other regions. The assholes come from Jersey, NY, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. Midwestern folk are the first I’d welcome down for the winter. They’re not the problem.

What I always find ridiculous, but not surprising, is when the roads ice over, people get in their cars and pickup trucks and get out on the road
Nothing more fun than doing donuts in a deserted parking lot in the ice and snow. It also helped me learn how to drive years ago when I first came to Colorado

It's called "Climate Change", and we've been saying for 25 years that CLIMATE CHANGE will have much more extreme weather of all types.

Nah, bro. They were saying "global warming" until the past few years, you just don't remember it.

"Climate Change" became the name when they realized that people weren't buying the "global warming" nonsense.

If the climate changes, it will be due to solar cycles moreso than emissions.

Many scientists believe we are entering a Grand Solar Minimum. It happens once in a while. Because "climate change" is a natural phenomenon, in spite of the nonsense they've crammed into your soft skull.

They weren't the ones who came up.with the term.

They also aren't the ones screaming 24/7 about science yet insisting there are 100+ genders.

Well considering the US has been declining in emissions at the fastest rate in the world of any majory country we aren't the problem. The problems is the same folks who scream about CC and polluting the oceans have zero plan for doing anything about China or the other Asian countries that are polluting like crazy with no regulations and where they dump everything into the ocean with no regard. Spare me the "denying science" garbage.

Oh, and I still remember as a kid in the '80s being taught in school about the coming Ice Age and how we would be completely out of all oil by the year 2000. Oh, and we were all going to starve to death anyway because of overpopulation. Same "science".

6" yesterday, another 8" to 11" predicted today for South Central Arkansas.
The most I ever remember measuring during my 60 plus years is 13". One or two others that were close.
Last year we didn't have ANY measurable snow, just a dusting or two.
While this is a hassle, very thankful it's not an ice storm.

I got a drift behind my house that's about 5 foot of snow right now. There's cars abandoned all up and down my street which is on a big hill.

The hole in the ozone layer was a shock when I attended US schools in the 80s and acid rain was melting the statues & killing the trees. Turns out the Ozone is fine, white liberals removed the statues and the trees grew back.

70F and Sunny every single day would get to be boring as hell. Give me the snow, thunderstorms, the heat, Spring, Fall.
I am very happy to be in 4 seasons land.
