As we all know, the Vols are preparing to bring down the hammer on the SEC the next few years. But honestly, our fans deserve to see good things happen after the ridiculous lolfest we've put on for you guys at our expense the past several years. Feel free to laugh to your heart's content as I review just how deeply embarrassing and hilarious our downfall has been. Here are plenty of facts, many of which you may not even know, that paint an exact picture of how comically atrocious things have been since 2008. Enjoy!
-We haven't beaten a fellow big 6 team since 2009 when we beat Georgia. We've lost our last 19 games against big 6 competition. These streaks are longer than any team in the SEC in that regard.
-We have to watch YouTube videos from frickin 2006 to find the latest time we beat ONE of our two biggest rivals.
-We've beaten one ranked opponent since 2009, and if not for a miracle catch we couldn't even say that.
-We've lost to Vandy 3x and UK once since we last beat Florida.
-In 2008 (Phil's last year) we were knocked out of bowl contention because we lost to mighty Wyoming, 13-7.
-During one coaching transition, we were turned down by alumnus and former OC David Cutcliffe as he chose to stay at Duke. DUKE. That's how bad our team looked.
-We've been ranked 2 weeks since 2008. The first was opening week 2008, where we lost to an abortion of a UCLA team. The second was 2012 Florida, where the defense was horrendously exposed.
-Derek Dooley's career record was 14-21. He cared more about teaching how to take q shower than how to build a halfway decent football team.
-Derek Dooley was 1-14 in his last 15 SEC games (fired before the season ending 2012 UK win) and was one pick 6 away from being 0-15.
-Dooley lost 2 games he was winning with 0:00 left, in one season. You can't make that stuff up.
-The now-defunct UAB Blazers took us to double OT in 2010 (we won)
-The 2011 Vols scored 7 or less in 5 SEC games. (never shut out)
-That team lost to SEC west competition by a score of 124-20, an average score of about 41-7 in three games.
-That team also lost to Kentucky, a 4-8 team, playing a wide receiver at QB. UK threw about 3 passes in that game and won 10-7.
-Despite that, they beat a Butch Jones coached Cincinnati team by 22.
-Search "Joe Adams punt return" on YouTube. I roll my eyes with just the thought of it.
-The 2012 team had a better offense, but a defense for the ages, not in a good way. This defense gave up 37+ points in its first 7 SEC games, losing all of them. We even scored 48 and 44 in two of those, and still lost those damn games.
-Our QB was better at throwing beer bottles off roofs than leading late game scoring drives.
-We gave up 48 points and 721 yards of offense to TROY. (Still won the game 55-48)
-We lost 41-18 to Vandy that year. Nuff said.
-The 2013 team lost 4 games by 28+, and I'm convinced Oregon could have hung 100 on us if they wanted to.
-That team also avoided a loss to yet another Sun Belt team, beating South Alabama 31-24 in dramatic fashion.
-Dobbs threw 5 picks before his first career TD throw, which also should have been picked but was bobbled by the DB and ended up being caught.
-The 2014 Alabama game was the first time UT had played them within 30 in the last 5 years.
-Florida lost to Vandy and Georgia Southern in 2013, but that team still beat Tennessee.
-So did the team with 0 points and about 50 yards of total offense after 3 quarters of last year's game.
-Every team in the SEC has beaten Tennessee in the last 4 years (except A&M who hasn't played us in that time)
-Tennessee's SEC records since 08 are: 3-5, 4-4, 3-5, 1-7, 1-7, 2-6, 3-5
-Butch's career record at UT is an unimpressive 12-13.
-We almost lost 3 in a row to Vandy.
-Dexter McCluster, Amari Cooper, Todd Gurley, Pharoh Cooper, and I'm sure at least 5 other players that I can't think of had career days/200 yards games against us.
-The South Carolina road win last year was our first road SEC win (non-Vandy/UK) since 2007.
-We had a 12 game road losing streak INCLUDING Vandy and UK spanning 2011-13.
-And our QB now has no eyebrows
That's all I got, but I'm sure there's even more. Lol all you want, shoot I would if I was an opposing fan. Pretty much have to as a UT fan too, it's been that bad. But at least I hope you now truly understand the level of bull we've put up with the past few years.

ETA: and we went 0-4 vs Will Frickin Muschamp.

Its sad Botch is going to see mild success and and increase of pay from what Dooley built and left behind ready to win.

That was a tl;dr type of post, but it was interesting so I read it.
Were the two games that you lost when you had the lead the LSU game in BR and the bowl game against UNC?
