re: Controversial Trade Idea

Thanks. Thought it might've been, but I'm on the elliptical at the gym, and viewing TD on the mobile site so I couldn't make out the sarcasm font....
Let's not fault Demps and Gentry too quickly
Can't blame Gentry for trying to advance his career. Demps on the other hand is fully to blame for firing a coach who wanted a say on player personnel, hiring a beta who won't challenge him, and a beta with a long and established record...

re: Basketball Starting 5

Epps has been coming on strong of late. He was very active rebounding the ball against GW. I have no problem rewarding him for that effort and making the point to everyone else that guys who rebound and play D will start and/or see more minutes....

Playing time should be proportionate to a player's willingness to defend and fight for position to get rebounds. The guys who won't do either or both can sit until their attitude changes....

re: Johnny Jones criticism is BS

I like JJ and would love for him to be successful at LSU. That said, he had two of the top 32 players in the country last year and underachieved, and he's underachieving this year with arguably the best player and at least one more projected to play in the NBA and several others who could be sec...
As bad as their defense was in the second half their halfcourt offense may have been worse. They literally do nothing on the offensive end with regard to off ball screening, movement, etc. The isolate one player and most of the time that player leaves his feet before deciding to pass or shoot...

re: 5 star QB at LSU

I've seen plenty of people on here and in the media claim Zach Lee was a 5*. I've also seen people on here and in the media claim he was a 3*. Which is it?...
I thought he turned down the Florida job last year
No. Foley (Florida's AD) badmouthing him is the reason he hasn't landed a better job yet. Foley trashes him to anyone who will listen. There's apparently some pretty bad blood between the two from when Mullen was at UF....

I sincerely hope they don't fire Rumlin. As much as I enjoy the dumpster fire that is Texas A&M football, I'd love to see him be given another year - especially under these circumstances. Their soap opera makes our program appear stable by comparison. Plus, Les owns Sumlin. It's always nice wh...
What in the frick are u talking about
Les is one of four of five coaches Aggies are speculating will replace Rumlin. They've mentioned his name a few times on their board on the SEC Rant and on TexAgs. Les, Herman, Freeze, Mullin and the Michigan State coach are the names I saw...

re: Craig Victor's Free Throws

Posted by GeauxToBed on 12/17/15 at 7:42 am
Free throw shooting aside, Victor's play was the biggest bright spot I took from the game. He boxed out, he got an offensive rebound, he positioned himself to take a charge (it wasn't called, but at least he tried --- how many other guys have done that this year?), and he brought a physical style...
Our coach wouldn't let us go home until someone made 10 straight. That was every day. So yeah, needless to say we got good at it....
Why doesn’t he go somewhere else if he is so miserable? Perhaps because nobody will pay him $120,000-plus to teach two classes a semester and write his blog and Facebook posts all day. The LSU athletic department is run as a business, and a profitable one at that. The academic side of the uni...
Diver
Are you an A&M fan? If so I understand. T&P sent....
1-10 free throws? WTF is that?
In fairness, Victor was very good in every other phase of the game. He actually boxes out, got at least one, maybe two offensive rebounds, and attempted to position himself to take a charge on defense. He played tough and physical, and his play seeme...
Rant narrative
It's pretty obvious to anyone who has ever played competitive basketball. If a player spends five minutes a day practicing free throws he'll shoot upward of 70% in games. Most of the players on this team look like the only time they ever shoot free throws is in the ...
They played okay in the first half. Street ball seems to be the default though, and I was disappointed to see the team revert to that in the second half and almost let an awful team back into the game. Free throw shooting doomed us against NC State in the tournament last year, has cost us two...
