1965: Gumps went 9-1-1 (lost to GA, tie TN) and were # 3 playing # 4 Neb in a Bowl Winning a close game.
10-0 Undefeated Mich St were Champs
Only a POS University would claim this title.

You're so stupid you're not even trolling correctly. The title in question has always been 1964.

1965 is about as legitimate as they come as the AP waited until after the post-season to award their national title. #1 Michigan State and #2 Arkansas lost their bowl games, making #3 Nebraska vs. #4 Alabama in the Orange Bowl the de facto AP national championship game.

And the game wasn't close. The final score was 39-28.

The NCAA has never awarded national championships to FBS football schools, so who really cares what some list they generated says?

The lowest scumbag programs and their dirtbag fans have no respect for the NCAA or its rules or NCAA recognition of legitimate titles. You’re among the bottom crawlers of all CFB, dirtier than SMU that received a Death Penalty — Keep Up the Dirty Work your day is coming (31 wins vacated to date, 2 open NCAA investigations now)

So many bullschitt claimed Titles it’s hard to keep track

In 65 GA & TN laughing at your pathetic @$$es. GA beat you, TN tied you!

The buying of AP voters is real.
Gumps are truthfully still behind Notre Dame who has 13 or 14

We won’t even discuss titles that should be vacated due to paying of players and

@$$holes like DJ FLUKER etc

Then why did the voters suddenly develop morals and not take payments in 1966?

In all time wins and all time conference wins it is Alabama, Tennessee, UGA and LSU 1-4. In fewest conference Losses those 4 are also in the same order of the schools that were originally part of the conference and still part of the conference...and they are 1-4 in winning % against all foes and in conference....so it is pretty safe to say it is:

1 Alabama - No reasonable person would question this.
2 UT - but fading fast....Georgia is about to surpass them in all the categories above.
3 UGA - Consistently good for a long time without winning a lot of national titles (I know...1980)
4 LSU - Probably the most amazing program in the conference given the in state population. Consistently good, have won a respectable number of national titles, and just barely behind UGA and UT in the categories above...LSU is also close to surpassing UT.

Auburn would be fifth and UF 6th. The rest of the conference is pick 'em.

Sunlight has an effect on rats! They run for cover! I guess 66 is same reason Gumps didn’t win an 8th straight Recruiting Title after winning ??? 7 magical #1 Recruiting Titles in a row.

1 Death Penalty dodged — Then 7 Titles in a row Recruiting

It’s his ranking, so who knows, but I’d guess because LSU has a 4-1 edge over UGA and 4-2 lead over UT in legitimate titles. That 2-4x more while they tie UT and lead UGA in conference titles. If his numbers were correct, LSU would be even more comfortably in 2nd place.

LSU has 4 national titles. (5 if you ask TigerRant).

Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida are almost interchangeable as programs.

Tennessee and Georgia have 5 more SEC titles than Florida and have been more historically dominant as programs whereas Florida has been pretty average outside of Spurrier and Meyer.

I gave Tennessee the nod over Georgia for having a more recent national title than Georgia and arguably a better history (Although Tennessee has been awful recently, historically they competed with Bama for the #1 program in the SEC)

Every other team is kind of self explanatory.

I thought that was because the recruits got an extra star because they committed to Bama. Not because they were all that good. Which excuse is it now?

Well before 1975 many NC were awarded after the season and before the bowl game. In fact, many of the NC winners before 1975 did not even play in a bowl game (1957 )

However because Alabama never backed down from a game, they did lose to Texas at the end of the 1964 season, and Notre Dame after the 1973 season. It happens, and happened to other teams as well.

Since 1975, Alabama is 8-3 in title games.

1964 and 1973. There are 8 other times a team lost a bowl and still claimed the title. At least 15 others where the team that won didnt even play in a bowl game.

Fun fact since you mentioned notre dame and 1973, in 1947 Notre dame and michigan had a spat about the AP poll that year because Michigan had beaten USC worse than ND did. ND argued that since the poll took place before the bowls that it should stand in their favor.

Teams that finished #1 despite losing their last game of the season:

1943 Notre Dame
1950 Oklahoma
1951 Tennessee
1953 Maryland
1960 Minnesota
1964 Alabama
1965 Michigan State
1970 Texas
1973 Alabama

Given that Alabama tends to find very good to great coaches, Alabama still would have won NCs, maybe not as much, but still would have won some. Alabama has had multiple NC winning coaches, that won multiple NC while at Alabama.

Gumps are pathetic claiming titles not recognized by NCAA

THIS IS THE ONLY NCAA VALID LIST

NCAA gives Gumps credit for only 15 titles.

NCAA does not have a Div-1 championship game. Many schools before the standarization of the polls after WWII (and some after) claim NCs won. Of those that have multiple NC won before WWII, only Alabama had everyone of their teams play in a bowl.

And regardless of the bowl losses, there is not a SINGLE school that was named AP/Coaches national champions that dont claim it. Not one.
