Pin the opponent deep and go from there. Saban out-coached himself on November 5th.

That being said, LSU is a more complete team than Alabama. Offense, defense, and special teams. Does that mean LSU will win? Not at all. It will be pretty much a toss up, just like last time.

Well said you probably know more about football than 90% of the people on this site.

Hey it's all good. I was just curious, I had asked you in a thread a week or so ago but I think you left the thread or logged out. No worries, maybe we'll meet at a tailgate and have a beer one day

I'll bite the troll attempt. If Alabama makes all their field goals they would have scored 15 points. Alabama was never a threat to score a TD and your coach knew it and that's why he threw a reverse WR pass when y'all finally got close. LSU should have scored 3 TD's and 2 field goals. So in actuality if LSU didn't play such a horrible game they should have won by 12 and not 3.

I think LSU will play better, they really couldn't play much worse than they did on Nov. 5. So I am thinking a 2 TD win is probably in the cards for the tigers.

So could have LSU.

Bama created more opportunities to win it than LSU

Bama couldn't do shite in the red zone, and will not next game either. LSU gave up more yards to WVU than Bama.

and some very unusual things had to happen for [Alabama] to lose it.

Like not being able to move the ball once inside the 30. Yeah, that's unusual. Get a better offense.

quote:

Those facts are widely acknowledged and the reason the voters set the rematch

People voted for the rematch because Bama is the second best team in the nation. With the whiniest fan base.

All you want for Christmas is 11-5-11, and 9-6 erased from memory. I feel ya.

Well, at least that's a step above the other progression, I was talking about, where Bama's typically considered the "smart ones" choice.

Chapman's block in the back hurt us more than anything IMO (outside of our terrible specialist of course). Could have set up an easy TD inside the 5.

You had 2 blocks in the back on that play.

Oh wait! I can play this too!

"That Jarrett Lee gift interception to you setting up one of your 2 FGs made this game closer than it should have been."

See how that works?

You people are very sad.

How many times was LSU inside the red zone?

THREE times.

How many times was Alabama inside the red zone?

Anyone?

Holding 'Bama to 0 positive plays inside the 20 = LUCK!
Forcing (and blocking) long FG attempts = LUCK!
Eric Reid out-muscling a bigger man for the ball = LUCK!
Maze not being able to field a 73 yd punt = LUCK!
Several McCarron passes being off-target = LUCK!

'Bama squeaking by Oklahoma State by .0086 points in a formula that nobody truly understands = SKILL!

To "bite" on your troll, Bambie:

A few points to consider.

In the first game, LSU outgained you 148-96 in rushing yards. I point this out in response to the incessant amongst you that keep saying that Alabummer outgained LSU in total yards. You aren't the only team that outgained LSU this year when adding in the passing yards. There's an old addage that says that a rushing yard is worth two/three passing yards... just look at your own team... Bama would rather have a 100+ rushing game from Richardson than 250+ passing yards, given the choice.

Insofar as the field goal discussion goes, you should have punted the ball to bury LSU deep, and then rely on your defense to keep LSU pinned down. I believe the reason that y'all attempted the long field goals is because you were having real trouble getting the ball in closer.

Alabama had the ball inside the red zone only ONCE the entire game, and that was for ONE series, netting two yards. In contrast, LSU had the ball in the red zone three times, inside the ten, but played conservatively. If Bama were ahead by a touchdown, LSU would have not been so conservative in the red zone. In other words, all the woulda-coulda-shoulda scenarios don't assume that the game flow would have changed as well.

Insofar as the Eric Reid interception goes, the play was reviewed by the officials AND THE ENTIRE NATION, and it was clearly a pick. Deal with it. Your coach was getting anxious, he tried a trick play with Maze throwing the ball, and Reid made a smart and athletic play on the ball.

* I am taking the time to point all this out to you Bama fans, in hopes that maybe some of you "get" why not only did you lose the game, but LSU BEAT YOU. NO, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE WON THE GAME "BUT FOR" WHATEVER.

Give the Tigers credit they deserve, then pull for your beloved Tide to play better next month in the BCS game... but QUIT TRYING TO TAKE AWAY LSU's WIN.* Otherwise, the rest of the football world perceives you all as excuse-making, arrogant and stupid.

it's sad that you took that comment so seriously... that's the play that I think hurt us THE MOST, not the play that would have won us the game but the play that could have won us the game. And I said nothing about the mistakes that LSU made because they made plenty & could have won the game by a larger margin. We both know what actually happened & nothing that any of us says changes that, so take a Valium Brah.
