Bama: 6'4" 294
LSU: 6'6" 340
I predict Fehoko will go multi-flatinum. :geauxtigers:

Looks like they're jumping ship.
Ware & Ford are jumping ship to the NFL because they couldn't start for LSU.
Wing is jumping ship because he may not be eligible anymore and he had proven everything in college that he's going to prove. Besides, he's almost 23 yrs old.
Montgomery, Reid, Minter & Mingo are jumping ship for almost-guaranteed generational wealth.
Faulk & Simon? They're just grabbing at the brass ring I guess.
Let's not pretend that these are malcontent defections. By all accounts, the players love LSU and Miles.
re: Why didn't we play Mingo at outside linebacker?
Posted by The_Pistol on 1/7/13 at 5:01 pm
Chavis did use Mingo & Monty standing up with a 3 down-lineman front quite frequently. He was practically a part-time OLB.

With absolutely no pass rush, they're probably about equal. In real game situations where a QB must actually move in the pocket and occasionally scramble, there is no comparison.
Bridgewater's footwork was great.

It's funny how many people think the OP's premise is ridiculous, but wholeheartedly support the NCAA's collusion with the NFL to lock players out unless they're 3-yrs removed from HS.
Force them to stay 4 yrs? LUDICROUS!
Let them leave after two? LUDICROUS!

I can't see a team using a 1st rd pick on him. His biggest asset is hard-hitting run support. When teams need help in run support, they draft in the front 7, not a safety.

Cannon in '59 has been replayed at least once every year for over 50 years.
As a pre-teen, even I could recite the play-by-play from memory.
The others were awesome, but c'mon.

re: A weak arse schedule is obviously the way
Posted by The_Pistol on 11/18/12 at 12:39 am
A weak arse schedule has ALWAYS been the way to win a MNC. History has shown that top teams only get challenged about 4 times per season. Sometimes, so-called champions only play one real opponent.
It tarnishes the championship trophy when it isn't earned. That's the biggest problem with college football. The national championships aren't entirely earned on the field...never have been.

re: Les Miles post game interview

He was obviously trying to suppress rage. He was pissed at a reporter for crapping on an otherwise special day for R. Shepard. In his rage, he realized he was detracting the positive attention that should have gone to his seniors on their night. I don't fault him one bit for rambling a bit.
Geaux Les!!

It seems like you're going out of your way to rain on his parade.
Nobody is making the statement that you are refuting.

You're too sensitive to what ESPN says and does. I suggest you gain some perspective.

That's exactly why I posted his pic.
He is a really good coach. I have nothing but respect for the man.

re: LSU hasn't had a solid offensive game plan since____________(fill in blank)
Posted by The_Pistol on 10/28/12 at 8:23 pm
If LSU throws it around the yard like a lot of fans want to see, LSU loses a lot more than 2 out of their past 22 games.
Botton line is that the gameplan is great if you win and poor when you don't. The consistently conservative gameplans have been just fine...with two exceptions.

FIFY.
Don't kid yourself about the '04 season. It had nothing to do with Saban half-assing it. The fact is that even good coaches cannot consistently win championships without superior players and a competent QB.

Lsu is the undisciplined team, not bama.
A Saban-coached team would never lead the NCAA in penalties or have a player kneel one the 1-yd line!
