Didn’t Auburn schedule a game in Mogadishu during the early Pat Dye years. If I remember correctly they were trying to sign a tackle or some such. They missed as he signed with UGA.

Yes, but keep in mind that was back when Mogadishu State was a solid squad. This was before they caught several warlords buying players and were put on probation. I believe the infamous Black Hawk Down incident was a result of the US sending food aid and NCAA investigators into town.

Bama cancelling on A&M because of weather. I remember it was a beautiful day in College Station that day.

Any school that is in a southern state that complains about games cancelled due to a hurricane is just not being smart. My goodness we all know what a hurricane can do and you actually want people to travel in it for a game?

Yeah I would ignore the Auburn hat as well if I were you.

I didn't ignore the Auburn hat at all. As far as anyone can tell, he's just a dude that happened to be standing there when the picture of two Klan members, wearing the same glasses, rags and Mississippi klan shirts, was taken.

NCAA blue helmets, lol.

I think al-Jackiedullah Sherillabibi was the warlord who the NCAA was after.

To add insult to injury...

Alabama went out there after the 2002 season as well.

Reading up on it...

Apparently Washington State (2002) and Virginia (2003) backed out of trips to Hawaii for the "13th game"... both teams were going to have to pay Hawaii for backing out...unless another "suitable" opponent stepped up. Bama said they could and would since they were on probation.

So apparently Bama did Wazzu and Virginia a favor for taking those games.

You think I'm pissed off about Alabama adding a game to their schedule in 2003? Personally I thought it was bad optics by your school - but I couldn't care less

I went and looked up why the game was cancelled. The original game day they are supposed to play was actually cancelled by Ole Miss due to having too.much Covid in their. This is according to SI.com. The game was rescheduled to some time in mid December and then Aggies had Covid passing around their program. So, it looks like both had to pull out due to SEC Covid regulations.
