Sounds a lot like the Miles/Cameron situation at LSU

It's amazing how much goodwill Mac built up with the Bama fanbase from his time their coordinating an offense put together by Saban's recruiting machine and his time at UF providing them with a nice little high school tune up game before going to the playoffs each year.

He's an arrogant, stubborn asshat. And they'll defend him like he's their own child.

Alabama fans think Mac was unfairly fired. He is amazing after all. Guy almost scored two touchdowns sometimes!

I am not that stupid. Mac fricking sucks and he probably should have been fired last year.

They're in their first fricking year.

One of my points. You're not getting another Meyer, so this won't improve for you.

Mac was a bad recruiter. As seen by Muschamp, Meyer, Zook, and Spurrier.

I wouldn't disagree...but how much competition did they have? Not as much as Florida does now.

FAU and USF are not getting elite players. Doesn't matter how long either is there. THeir programs don't attract elite recruits. They will battle for 3 stars and a few four stars, but not the major ones.

Meyer never really attacked the Miami area. Muschamp did that more than Meyer. Meyer attacked Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville. Then the upper NE part of the country for guys like Dunlap and Harvin.

Meyer had Miles, Richt, Bowden and Fisher, Kiffin, Saban, CHizik, etc.

Not like the SEC didn't know how to recruit when he was here. If you think USF and FAU are stealing UF and FSU recruits, you are wrong. They may win a battle for a good three star. They aren't pulling the elite kids though. Kiffin is building his program on second chance kids.

This is pretty fricking stupid. I don't know any Alabama fans that defend Mac's tenure at Florida. We also had Nuss as our OC and were glad to see him go.

But the main point is that Mac built up that good will with Alabama fans being a successful OC that won two NCs. I'm guessing you're too young to remember Mac's offense kicking Urban's arse in 2009 and 2010.

Are you arguing that they will pull elite Florida talent to FAU and USF? The problem isn't that they're in their first year at the school. It's because they're recruiting to fricking FAU and USF.

Yeah, Charlie. The latest Florida news on our mind was a 45-16 blowout loss to Mizzou. So yeah. That has to be it.

There comes a time in a thread where you have to concede that all you're really doing is gaturbating.

Look around any of these Mac threads. Plenty of Bama fans have been moderately defending Mac.

And bringing age insults into this? Seriously? What, anyone who thinks Mac sucks must be 10 or something?

You seem kinda like Mac. An arrogant asshat.

Who might that be? If you are referring to Bill Curry, he was 10-2 and NEVER beat Auburn in his 3 years!! He was someone "outside" that wasn't a "Bear Bryant disciple" while the GOB network was going strong and mucking things up. He folded to the pressure and bailed.

With Foley and Spurrier actually on campus, I'd be surprised if any big-time coach would touch them with a 10 foot pole...that's an accident waiting for a place to happen.
Foley's not really around anymore. And coaches aren't going to be scared off when Florida throws a lot of money at them. There will be a lot of highly sought-after coaches at the end of the year: Frost, Mullen, Norvell, Taggart, et.al. Florida will land one of them.

There comes a time when you must admit the truth.

A great Florida, removes the Saban dynasties power.

Auburn or Florida. They are the scariest teams to Bama. You will always beat pro style. Yet even Ole Miss can topple you with a spread offense.

Auburn and Florida..little more dangerous than Ole Miss with an elite offensive coach. So yes. You should just admit why it's only Bama fans here.

Because you know Florida scares you if they bring in the top offensive system in the country. Because you saw Florida dominate with Meyer and Spurrier. You know the potential. Two pro style coaches in a row made UF irrelevant, well despite two apperences but still. Yet spread offenses have put UF in the SEC title game as much as Bama, and we have won only one less in that span, despite ten years of having a pro style offense absolutely fail(Zook, Mac, Musc).

Just admit it. Florida having an elite offensive coach is as scary to Bama as facing Meyer or Dabo yearly. You don't want it, because you know Florida is the only program in the SEC to challenge Alabama consistently for 25 years. Anytime UF has a spread team, Alabama has a challenger. Anytime UF has a pro team, Alabama destroys them. It's easy to see why you wanted Mac to stay.

His team looked terrible every year and it got worse. Anyone in their right mind knew hi trips to Atlanta had more to do with the coinciding of USCe's rapid decline and coaching change, UTs shitshow, Vanderbilt, Mizzou and U.K trying to get through coaching changes and the changes at UGA it was possibly the most turbulent stretch of SEC East football in my lifetime. And we saw how they faired against Bama.

In the end you watch the team and you knew that with all the talent that the state of Florida provides he put out a shitty product that none of us can see winning the SEC.

He was wrong. Ole Miss or Mississippi State pay their coach to get to Atlanta. Florida pays theirs to win in Atlanta and they should expect that. I can't picture Mac ever beating Saban with what he created.

I'll admit, I didn't read your whole post because I could tell it was pretty much all bullshite by the second line.

There's probably not gonna be a "great" Florida any time soon. The last time y'all were there, the head man copped a fake heart attack and split.

So basically. Alabama had the same exact issues as UF, and let a coach go. Then hired Saban.

Once again. Shows the fear. Going after UF for the same things Bama faced under Curry, then saying it's bad for Florida(yet somehow worked for you).

I can sense it. You fear the Kelly/Frost offense. It's okay. Bama will be fine. UF can be good too guys. Don't get suicidal.

Someone sounds scared.

It's okay. Here's a TL;DR

Florida with a spread offensive style is the counter to Saban. There. Made it easier for you.

Thank you Rebel.

They are scared.

They know your boys owned them with Freeze.

Now they sense that style is coming to UF. So it has them nervous.

i think the perceived trajectory of the program when compared to the rise of smart in athens led to them pullling the plug on mac. the death threats were just a convenient, timely excuse.
