There are 304 college baseball teams in division 1. We are down to the final 8 teams that made it to Omaha.

Good luck to the 5 SEC teams that made it.

I'm pretty worried going against Texas's ace who completely shut us down last year. BUT, the one thing that gives me hope is that MSU's ace also killed us earlier this year but we got him figured out in the supers. Granted we haven't faced texas this year but I'm really hoping we can figure out this guy enough to stay in it til late.

It'd also be nice if we had an elite pitcher but our starting 3 rotation is mostly just guys that are pretty good enough most of the time. If we lose tomorrow and have to come out of the loser's bracket we're probably fricked due to our pitching.

I’m still amazed and shocked how OU got here. Beating GT and Kansas on the road after how we finished later part of conf season is a miracle in of itself. I believe the SEC series are like 10 post season playoff series and prepares you for them. It toughens you up.

Good luck to all the teams, it takes so many things going just right to get here. Each team earned their place.

Go OU, beat Bama!!!

And bigDgator, thank you so much for keeping up with these threads all season long. Makes it easy to find info.

And you do this for other sports which some are hard to find info on times and dates yet you always come through.

I know how time consuming that is and my hats off to you for doing so.

Thank You!!

Snake worshipping coal miners vs condoms is an interesting matchup for sure.

I still can't believe your Gators blew such a golden opportunity once UCLA choked on applesauce.

Disappointing for sure as hot as we were late. We fizzled and ran into Troy who was very hot and could do no wrong. Oh well, massive blown opportunity to your point.

looks like 5 teams can win it, but 4 of them on the same side of the bracket.

OU will be in every game if the freshman don’t freak out once they get to play . It’s tough when your first two starters are freshman. .

I think people default to the pitching (and for good reason with the way this park can play; it’s very similar to DFF in Austin). I’m interested tos we how we attack Volantis this year compared to last when we were basically XBH or nothing. This year we can basically win a game any way we need; mash HRs, hit singles and sac flies, whatever we can get away with we will do.

Seems like the consensus has just been that Volantis is going to hold our offense in check so the real matchup to watch is UGA pitching vs the Texas lineup. But there’s not been a lot given to what if we do to Volantis what we did to Valnicius and McPherson? And is Texas going to have the same success vs our pitching in Omaha that MSU (an arguably better lineup) had in a more hitter friendly park in Athens?

The days off in between make this a very different experience. I don’t think we’re as out of it if we drop game 1 as you’d think if this were a standard 3 day regional; if we lose, we don’t play again until Monday and if we win that second game we just play Tuesday night. Thats a not a full days rest but enough time to let some guys come back in a do or die situation

As a Bama fan, I would of course love to win it all for the first time ever.

That said, it's just feels good to finally be back. I was in college when we made the CWS 3 out of 4 years; now it feels like forever ago.

I'm hoping this is the year the Heels finally kick in the door and win this thing. The journey begins tomorrow against the Rebels.

What I'm still trying to figure out is why they put the two best teams in the same bracket. GA and TX are that much better than all the other teams. Who makes these decisions?

College baseball is a lot of fun. The football only crowd really misses out by only having 3 months of sports a year but, that on them.

I'm pulling for Troy, simply for the underdog role but good luck to all teams. Enjoy it.
