The left wants people to be afraid and for everything to be shut down for November. I catch glimpses of CNN at the gym; you get the impression we're living in some post-apocalyptic Outbreak scenario

Hospitals aren't getting over run. Measures that would actually slow things down cause other deaths and issues.
Also, that 0.25% number is the overall. In order to get real projections you need to do it by age. People below the age of 60 it's much lower, like 0.001% or something like that. But then above the age of 60 it also gets higher and by the time you get above the age of 70 it goes above the 0.25%.
I recently read that almost half the deaths thus far have been people in nursing homes.

Thankfully. A result of the economy slowing down due to the restrictions -- which sucks for everyone. IMO, we could probably run the economy in a phase 3 type of structure and keep hospital capacity manageable -- if people would just follow the guidelines.

If we call these football games protests and ANTIFA rallies will you be in favor of them? Your partisan outrage over some people enjoying freedom while others are shamed for it is typical leftist BS.

Hospitals get "over-run" near every year by the flu. It's hard to explain, but they do a lot of bed shuffling and such. They aren't really over-run, they just say that when they have to move beds from 1 area to another when they didn't expect it. It generally means "more than we expected" rather than "more than we can handle".
Like in the winter, they are expecting more flu cases. But then in the summer, they generally expect less flu cases, but a slight increase in trama injuries and also more elective surgeries. So they shuffle the beds around to meet that area.
So when they say "ICU is 90% full", that means 90% of the beds they had designated rather than 90% of the possible beds.
Economic shutdown is doing more damage than people realize and the stimulus packages by the government are a joke. Who in the world lives of $1200 a month much less every 6 months. Meanwhile it appears the bulk of the money is really being sent to big business because as usual that's who the government bails out and cares about.
At any rate, peoples lives are being ruined and damage is being done that might never be repaired for some people/areas on top of the deaths it's caused.

They weren't going to cancel/postpone the football season in June or July because if they did then come time for practice and games to start and things were much better then they would have egg on their faces. They were always going to take it down to the wire and see if one or more conferences flinches and make a decision. Well...they are down to the wire and something has to give.

But I do know when the cases/deaths are going down they talk about ending sports. When the cases are going up, they talked about the season.
There is basically no correlation between their decisions and the virus.
Not to mention the fatality rate is no where near what they originally claimed and if it had been reported accurately from the start we wouldn't have done most of the stuff we've done thus far.
It's a clusterfrick and reminds me of a drunken redneck funeral.
The fear will go away after the election. The libs will need a new disaster to hook their wagon to.
