The Big 12 and their terrible schedules is a problem for the sport

We're legit looking at this being a real possibility:
Texas Tech (9-0; 12-0)
Utah (9-0; 12-0)
BYU (8-1; 10-2)
And heaven really help us if BYU upsets Notre Dame.
According to the ESPN matchup predictor...
Texas Tech has a 71% or better chance of winning each remaining game on their schedule.
Utah has a 72% or better chance of winning each remaining game on their schedule with that exception of BYU where by they have a 65% chance.
BYU has a 60% or better chance of winning each remaining game except for Notre Dame (24%) and Utah (35%).
If Notre Dame were to lay an egg and lose to BYU, we could potentially be looking at three teams either 11-1 or 12-0 from the same league who only played one game among each other and zero losses to teams outside of themselves.
They could legit take 3 playoff spots off the board despite playing just one Top 60 team OOC opponent between the three of them.
This is their combined OOC slate with SP+ ranking:
#3 Notre Dame (BYU)
#65 Oregon St (Texas Tech)
#71 Arkansas (Utah)
#99 Colorado State (BYU)
#108 Utah State (Utah)
#129 Sam Houston (Texas Tech)
#172 Abilene Christian (Texas Tech)
#203 Idaho (Utah)
#375 Utah Tech (BYU)
Texas Tech (9-0; 12-0)
Utah (9-0; 12-0)
BYU (8-1; 10-2)

Iowa is 4-0 and plays one currently ranked team all year.
vs #5 Ohio State
@ Washington
@ Minnesota
vs Wisconsin
@ Northwestern
vs Purdue
@ Illinois
vs Nebraska
Good chance they take up another spot.

The Big 12 is an island of misfit toys. Praying one day OkState can leave and continue playing bedlam, Mizzou, A&M, and Arky.

Saw Crain & Co talked about this scenario today. This would mean BYU, Utah, TT, ND, Miami are already in & the only real difficult teams they've played are themselves. Throw in a possible Boise team who is already #22...
That's half the playoff field already decided before even considering the B10/SEC. If we assume UGA & OSU win their leagues & get an auto bid, that's only 4 at large spots between the combined 34 teams left from the B10/SEC. Let's imagine UT & Indiana are runners up & are in - that's two spots left for:
Bama
Ole Miss
LSU
Florida
Iowa
Penn St
Oregon
Michigan
It's bullshite.

And the SEC added another conference game to give half the league another loss.

Texas Tech has to come to Stillwater where #6 has already fallen.

Sankey got absolutely clowned by the big ten. He has made the sec the second best conference and has put playoff spots in jeopardy, also him and plowman are looking down the barrel of losing millions per institution because plowman is an upset dyke.

The SEC playoff contending teams definitely don't need undefeated or 1 loss Big 12 or ACC teams losing their conference championship game.

The Big 10 claims they deserve more playoff spots because they have the last 3 Champions who are 3 different teams.

Hopefully, OKST is in the dawn of a new age of success.
Also, hopefully, all the parties involved will come to their senses and go back to more regional conferences.

It must be nice being the big 10 and your season doesn’t actually start until the playoffs.

Damn there's going to be a lot of angry fans. I think the BYU vs. Utah game should be an eliminator game. Sadly ND and Miami are making it no matter what you do unless they lose even 1 game because their schedules are very weak. I always find the G6 spot to be bullshite because they really don't matchup well against better competition and it's usually a snoozer.
I'll be okay with 2 from B12, 1 from ACC, 1 from G6, ND. Auto bid from B10 and SEC leaves with 5 at larges. So 3 will go to SEC and 2 will go to B10 Truly hope they value SOS this season or your scenario is going to happen.

Disagree.
The same happens in the NFL and NBA. Some divisions are weaker than others.
In the NFL, teams with a losing record can still make the playoffs and can even lead their division.
The CFP has been working so far.

SEC is a meat grinder. Every other P4 conference is soft at the bottom and top heavy. It doesn’t help that the SEC moved to nine games.

I'm not too sure that the ACC is even TOP heavy as Miami could be the only real good team.

Meh. People say stuff like this every year and every year teams lose games they shouldn't. There is also a Big 12 title game that will probably eliminate one of those 3 teams. Hell, Okie State or Houston could be in the mix for the title game.

SEC deciding to go to 9 games just looks more and more ridiculous & foolish.

I will say that this is why I'm now Ok with the 24-team playoff. It's really too many. 16 is enough, but with the great disparity in the strength of the P4 conferences, it is unfortunately needed. The idea of teams playing 5 playoff games is nuts, though.

It's bullshite.
michigan is out imo
lets say this
oregon wins out, Iowa loses to Ohio State only and then you have rematch of Oregon and Ohio State in B10 CG. Ohio State gets revenge and wins getting autospot
then iowa takes the other spot. so
big 10-
ohio state
indiana
Iowa
Big12
Utah
BYU
TT
2 are getting in
ND
ACC-
Miami
chance VT only loses to UVA, doesnt make championship and is sitting 11-1
SEC-
UGA
UT
so you have
UGA
UT
Ohio State
Iowa
Indiana
Utah
TT
ND
Miami
Boise
even if BYU doesnt get in....still only 2 spots. chance if they do or VT does, only 1 spot left
