Pretty sure Tennessee's worst is more than two losses. 1998 was the last time Tenner had less than two losses.

I didn't say less than 2 losses, I said 2 losses. We could have less than 2, but it's much less likely. We last had 2 losses in 2022.

OU should have a really good defense this year. OL looks very suspect, but the defense will be solid.

You do know not just one of the best, but THE best defensive mind in CFB has built HIS defense at OU now right? On paper it’s the most talented defense in the country. 9 of 11 returning starters, 3 pre season AAs.

OU schedule is brutal. They have a good team but will struggle just bc of how tough that schedule is. Same goes for Florida.

Seriously?

I dunno.

I know who he is but I know nothing about Oklahoma other than your defense gave up tons of points last year. Number of returning starters that gave up tons of points does not always bode well.

Maybe I should clarify. I expect DeBoer to keep them in the National Title picture this year and years to come. I don't think anyone duplicates Saban, ever, so I guess you got me.

FWIW, Phil Steele has us with the #2 linebacker group and #2 defensive back group in the country. And our line should be pretty good as well.

Much of our defensive numbers from last year can be attributed to Lebby's offense unable to get first downs towards the end of the game. Often in critical times the defense would get stop after stop but the offense would hurry-up their way to three and outs. Finally the defense wore down.

Gonna be a lot easier for him with a 12 team playoff instead of a two or four team one.

But you said Tenner’s worst case is 2 losses and a playoff berth. That’s waaay too optimistic. Tenner’s “worst” scenario for this season is 4-5 losses, in my expert opinion.

The last time someone replaced Saban, was at LSU with Les Miles. LSU proceeded to have 3 straight great seasons, and won a national title. Dropoff the 4th year (when the expected QB was kicked off the team, leaving LSU with a complete hole at that position), built back up to another title game appearance.

DeBoer is a winner, and I would suggest probably a better coach than Miles. I think as long as he resists the urge to unnecessarily change the organization ("put his stamp on it", for lack of a better term), things will run smoothly for Bama for a long time.

I say that as an LSU fan who hopes Bama goes into a ditch. I hope they do, but I don't expect them to.

OU's biggest enemy this season is the schedule, with the road being especially brutal.

We'll know a lot more about this team, especially the O-Line, after we fold Tennessee over like lawn chairs in a few short weeks. ; )

Got to stay healthy too.

I wish I shared your optimism as pertaining to Oklahoma.

Still get chills remembering that first quarter against bama in 2018 or the first half against LSU in 2019.

I'll be ecstatic over every win and consider the season a success if the win total is > 6.

That's gonna go in both directions, "rude awakening" rubes.

This little fever going around about us being shitty is just that, a fever dream.
