Vanderbilt isn't a tremendous shock given that the campus is located in a big city. Same for John Hopkins.

3 of the top... err... bottom 5 are B10 schools. Nothing quite like that tradition of academic excellence eh folks?

Damn, does Harvey Korman and Slim Pickens of Blazing Saddles screen the students before they are excepted?

I am sure Murphy Paul is working on it. Just like the Allie Rice and Madison Brooks cases. At least the guys that raped Brooks were too stupid not to get caught.

Would have guessed Temple to be on this list. I've heard their campus is in a terrible area.

It’s probably like many other campuses in very dangerous areas not on there, those crimes, while they impact students, don’t technically occur on campus.

As someone who has been to Ann Arbor and knows the area around campus fairly well, seeing Michigan first automatically discredits this list.

You won't find many campuses safer than Michigan's. And if you disagree, it's because you haven't been there.

List is trash.

I don't understand the opinions about the list being "trash" or "inaccurate."

It's just a list based on crimes that were reported on college campuses, are you saying those were false reports or what?

A lot of people don’t know, but College Station is very dangerous. People grab your arse for no reason. Be careful.

These lists are very misleading. In a lot of the big city campuses, the criminals are allowed to slide by. Places with good law enforcement will have a higher reporting rate.

Have never had even an inkling of being unsafe on the Texas A&M campus and that includes many times of coming home from study sessions at 2 AM.

Are you naive enough to believe that rapes don't occur on every college campus? I don't know what you people are getting so worked up about. An Arkansas fan posts a thread on most dangerous college campuses and people immediately start diarrheaing all over the thread about Baton Rouge.

Baton Rouge wasn’t always so dangerous. Years ago I really enjoyed my trips there but things seem to have taken a turn for the worst in recent years. It’s a little creepy now and one needs to be careful where they go.

Katrina happened. But, again, it's mostly concentrated in one section of the city that isn't near the campus.

There was a big influx of people after Katrina, and the city didn't have the infrastructure to keep pace. That's when things started going downhill. But again, most of the violent crime occurs in an area far removed from campus.

Atlanta got a lot of Katrina refugees too. It was a horrible situation that displaced so many people.

Yep. A lot drugs in NOLA when that happened. The drug use doesn't stop, the dealing doesn't stop and the crime follows it unfortunately.

How is Southern (and LSU) and Jackson State not on the list. Temple and any other school in a shite hole city. I did see Drexel, Johns Hopkins, and USC, so not a surprise there. I thought Vandy was in decent area. Prairie View is kinda in middle of no where. I almost missed Minnesota.
