Selective statistics. Drawing an imaginary line around the campus and ignoring what goes on around it is silly and shows a very incomplete picture.

Would you rather that they include the strip in the analysis?

So only 1 HBCU school yet 6 from Big Ten, 7 if you include USC, and 5 from SEC.

Yes. It would be a lot more honest.

1. Florida-Gainesville - Although there were 87 violent crimes in this two-year period, just in 2023, there were 19 rapes and sexual battery cases reported.

17. Alabama-Tuscaloosa - There were 95 violent crimes reported at The University of Alabama.

14. Auburn - There were 108 violent crimes reported at Auburn University.

13. Vanderbilt - There were 109 violent crimes reported at Vanderbilt University.

9. Texas A&M College Station - Based on information from campus police, rape offenses, fondling cases, burglaries, arson, hate crimes, and car thefts increased in 2022 from previous years.
Where's LSU?

We're regularly being told by the Psychotic LSU Haters on here that Baton Rouge is a dangerous shithole.

I mean…

Louisiana Ranked Most Dangerous State - Shreveport Times 10/23/23

Almost all major cities in the south have some serious crime issues. New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Little Rock, Jackson, Memphis, Nashville, Birmingham, Mobile, Atlanta. They all have issues. This list is junk, just like a biggameboomer list.

It's the same as acting like the crime in Baton Rouge is anywhere close to the imaginary line that you speak of. That part of Baton Rouge isn't where the statistics you speak of come from.

You're ruining his narrative.

Especially since the violent crime rate in Baton Rouge is over twice as much as Gainesville, FL.

This thread is about the campuses themselves, sir.

Facts and numbers are like kryptonite to some on here.

Also, this thread is proof we will argue about anything.

Most of us who live in Baton Rouge are well aware of the high violent crime rate in Baton Rouge and live outside of those areas. Don't pretend Gainsville is any different with high-crime areas.

Given the respective size of the campuses and student body population & diversity of each, this is a little surprising.

Not really. The UAT has it's own university police force so only crimes committed on university property are considered. LSU is the same way.

Whereas Auburn does not have a separate, university only, police force. They do have an Auburn University precinct but it includes the university and "the surrounding community".

Most of the violent crime and drug related crimes occur in north Baton Rouge, which is a completely different area than where the campus is located. Campus is south of I-10. The students know not to go to north BR.
