The joke was because UGA was always on the cusp. That's why it doesn't apply to ATM.

Teams win NCs. Each team is different.

How many guys were on this Georgia team that were on the 2017 team. Stetson was a member of the scout team, there may be others, I don't know.

I mean yeah. No one has anything on you the day after you win it all.

It’s a good feeling

it was literally the ability to pin random pictures to 1980 nostalgia that made it ridic, just be glad you can't do that for 1939.... or wait a minute...

On the flip-side, OU and LSU and USC and Texas and other programs were so bad then that I have never been able to think of them as "blue bloods" or whatever moniker these teams bestow on themselves. >>>>

make no mistake Aggy has YELLOW BLOOD.

In fairness, it's also why the 1998 thing doesn't work for us. We've been a train wreck rather than solid or good. "1980" was about the futility of being so damned close but not managing to grab the ring.

Yeah, sorry, no. 1998 will be brought up. Probably a lot. May as well get used to it.

Agree. Also I do not recall an A&M fan throwing out 1980, obviously. The Vols have been the leader in using it to cover up their ineptness

1980 was cheap, lazy, and over-used. But it did sum up the state of UGA football pretty well. To be so consistently good and have so little to show for it, for so long, was extremely frustrating....key word, was!

1998 is far less embarrassing than the fact that we hired, voluntarily, Derek Dooley and Butch Jones in successive coaching searches.
