I saw that this was their last undefeated season. I forgot they beat LSU 18–13. Why did TAM not win the national championship that year. I believe I was at the LSU game and honestly cannot remember a thing about it. Must have been a good game?

NCAA sanctions. A&M was ineleigible for the postseason.

The only success A&M has ever had occurred when they cheated like hell. They were on probation in 1994. When looking at aggie football in the 80s & 90s, it is tough to find a year when they weren't on probation.

When you have a substandard academic university in a garbage town and a violently homoerotic culture, you have to cheat to try to win. Now that everyone can legally pay players, aggie will likely never have a double-digit win season again.

Ok. Why did they not play Nebraska that year? I figured they played every year.

Nebraska was Big 8. A&M was SWC.

Big 12 didn't come along until later.

Must be why Austin is one of the fastest growing cities in America with an academic institution ranked in the top 10 of public universities while A&M and CS are not in the same stratusphere.

Barking loudly as a small pup only makes people notice how small you are.

I literally walked around city employees pressure washing human feces off of the sidewalk 1 block from your campus last week

And Austin proudly markets and labels itself the “gay capital” of the south west

I thought I remembered that team being good but were punished by the polls for them not being on TV because of NCAA sanctions, but after looking at their schedule, they really didn't play anyone.

They only played 5 teams who finished with a winning record:
Louisville (6-5)
Baylor (7-5)
TCU (7-5)
Southern Miss (6-5)
Texas (8-4)

Texas was the only team they played who finished ranked (#23/#25), and the blemish on Texas A&M's resume was the tie to an absolute dog shite SMU team who finished 1-9-1 and was still dealing with the long term effects of the Death Penalty.

Given that most agree everyone was "cheating" anyway is there any chance that those who did it and didn't get caught aren't going to prove to be better at it than those who did and did get caught? Nothing has changed for ATM....they just ain't good at the football thing.

Kind of crazy that AU went undefeated in '93 but was under sanctions, and the same for A&M a year later.

The SMU tie was a very weird blemish on their schedule.

Another interesting tidbit: A&M had a TV ban in 1994; Tommy Tuberville was their DC.

Ole Miss has the last NCAA imposed TV ban in 1995, Tuberville's first year as HC.
