Nah. Just interested in LSU (New Orleans/Austin home and away).

Arkansas would be good.

Lots of LSU and Arky fans in DFW.

I think most Texas fans would rather play USC/UCLA than any of the other SEC teams.

Actually, when I saw the thread I was wondering about different rivalries and why they no longer exist. I realize why A&M/Texas isn't being played. I really don't know why LSU/Tulane is not being played.

It's because A&M has absolutely nothing to gain by playing them. If we lose to an inferior team, it sucks. If we beat them, it's just as much of an afterthought as our annual domination of Arkansas. The sips have everything to gain on the other hand. They are irrelevant without us.

Aggies are scared of Texas, even with their 75 million dollar man.

Los Angeles vs Mayberry? Yup, our fan base would agree to that. Having said that, we have the LSU h/h coming up.

Texas traditionally plays the top tier and a subsequent lower tier program in their non conf schedule.

With aggy owning the mid tier program market, this appears to offer a scheduling challenge.

Give it some time, but u’ll realize aggy fears nothing. Delusional? masochistic? Yup, but they have no fear.. much like the fat red headed kid you beat the shite out of after school every day.. they keep coming back for more.

Texas A&M needs to man up and start playing Texas in football again by Carolina_Girl

With Mizzou coming along too, we have our Big 12 history with them.

Completely irrelevant in the context of the SEC tho

It would have made a helluva lot more sense to make aTm and Mizzou permanent cross divisional rivals since they do have history. Better sense than making aTm and the Gamecocks permanent cross divisional rivals considering we are pretty much the two farthermost teams from each other in the SEC.

Except your school polled your students and fans and they overwhelmingly chose to have us as their cross divisional rival over AR.

I've known all of this. And how about because y'all tried to hold us hostage over thanksgiving to make up for your lost rivalry with Texas which thank god looks like it'll end.
It has ended. And for the record, that was the folks in B-ham as much as us, trying to make the game work then. It was a mistake. I agree. It's over.

And because your campus might be the most shite campus in the SEC with the least amount of atmosphere sans Vanderbilt (which at worst includes a trip to Nashville so not that bad).
Have you ever been to Texas A&M? What part of it is shite? The part you haven't been to? The 100 year old oak and pecan trees on the old part of campus? The new buildings to accommodate explosive growth? Is it the two nuclear reactors? Maybe it's our genetic library? Or maybe it's all the new stuff? As opposed to your dilapidated campus, that could be the crown jewel of beauty, but your state is broke. And how you have nothing new or renovated on your campus because you can't afford it? Or maybe it's the highly desirable real estate that surrounds LSU? Yes, TAMU is shite indeed.

Y'all belong in the Big 12 playing Texas, Oklahoma, Tech, Nebraska (who should still be there as well). But no, we had to get saddled with y'all for the Texas TV markets...
I disagree. We had little to zero history and commonality with any of the old Big 8 schools. And culturally, we couldn't be more different. tu and Baylor were the only long standing rivals we had in the XII. We didn't start playing Texas Tech regularly until the 1950s, and when Arkansas left the SWC our series with them was longer at that time. When LSU canceled our series in the 90s, we had almost played LSU as much as Tech.
quote:

...instead of getting to play teams we actually want to play like Georgia and Tennessee more regularly.
But historically, you haven't played Georgia and Tennessee much. I thought you knew that?

You just need to stop posting, because each post you make further demonstrates your football illiteracy.

Maryland? Really? 4-8 last year. In recent history they've gone 6-7, 3-9, 7-6, 7-6, 4-8, 2-10. Who are these top tier teams you speak of?

ETA: Well, dammit. I forgot about USC. In fairness that didn't stand out to me because USC was expected to win and did. Maryland game was MUCH more enjoyable. Anyway, I fricked up.

You aggies clearly hate texas. Why don't you play them then? Because they will stomp your asses a lot more than you do to them, that's why. That will severely damage your recruiting in texas, more than it already has been and you will have a legit father once again. We are your stepfather, and we kick your arse like a red headed stepchild. It would be more child abuse than yall could handle.

When he said top tier, I think he just meant we don't pad our schedule with FCS schools every year like aggy does.

Believe it or not, it isn't up to me. Weird, huh? I'm in the minority here and would like for A&M vs. Texas to happen every year, home and home. I don't give a damn about the whole "in our interest, not in our interest" arguments. Texas citizens deserve this game.

And frickLSU®.

That's a fair point. If Darth Saban and I get our way we'll go to a 9-game SEC schedule and eliminate FCS games. But I won't hold my breath.
