Yes, dumbass, you've played us more than you've played Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and obviously SC.

I've known all of this. And how about because y'all tried to hold us hostage over thanksgiving to make up for your lost rivalry with Texas which thank god looks like it'll end. And because your campus might be the most shite campus in the SEC with the least amount of atmosphere sans Vanderbilt (which at worst includes a trip to Nashville so not that bad). Y'all belong in the Big 12 playing Texas, Oklahoma, Tech, Nebraska (who should still be there as well). But no, we had to get saddled with y'all for the Texas TV markets instead of getting to play teams we actually want to play like Georgia and Tennessee more regularly.

I'm not saying they can't compete but you've got almost no history between any of the schools compared to what was here before.

Prior to joining the SEC, A&M and LSU had played almost 60 times. A&M and Arkansas were in the same conference for almost 80 years. A&M and Alabama have a shared history of coaches between Bear Bryant, Gene Stallings and (unfortunately) Dennis Franchione.

A&M is a land-grant university just like 9 of the other 13 members.

With Mizzou coming along too, we have our Big 12 history with them.

Completely irrelevant in the context of the SEC tho

It would have made a helluva lot more sense to make aTm and Mizzou permanent cross divisional rivals since they do have history. Better sense than making aTm and the Gamecocks permanent cross divisional rivals considering we are pretty much the two farthermost teams from each other in the SEC.

in 2028, A&M will have played South Carolina more times than Missouri.

Agreed. And if that had happened LSU would still play Pig rivalry week so we could keep the date open for tu.

Its too bad but there is a lot standing in the way of this happening. I fear it will come back as a sideshow act played across the state once we get back to home and homes with pig.

I see it being like the LSU game used to be.

Season opener on Labor Day weekend home and home.

Then, once A&M wins 5 in a row, the sips will cancel the series and schedule Rice saying that it's an "equal opponent".

1984-1988: A&M wins 5 in a row against t.u.

All of a sudden, A&M is the focus of NCAA rules violations scandals.

1991-1995: A&M wins 5 in a row against LSU.

LSU ends the series.

2012-2018: A&M wins 6 in a row against Arkansas.

They still haven't recovered, 2 coaches later.

A&M fits, very well in my opinion.

Mizzou is an awkward association to the SEC.. B10 would be a natural fit.

Texas a&m has ever been worth a Frick and that isn't changing. No matter how much money you throw around and who you hire, you're still a&m, it must really blow being an aggie lol.

All this talk makes me wish Texas had a home and away series with LSU. Damn that would be good.

Arkansas would be lots of fun too.

Yes, clearly the exact same situation

Actually, when I saw the thread I was wondering about different rivalries and why they no longer exist. I realize why A&M/Texas isn't being played. I really don't know why LSU/Tulane is not being played.

I wasn't taking a shot at LSU or Texas A&M. I was asking a question. However, I also realize that asking an "honest" question is so rarely done on here....and so I understand why skepticism comes out for my question.

Why doesn't LSU play Tulane anymore?

Aggies made them quit in the 90's. They even reneged on a contract and still owe us money.

They have gotten lucky since we came to the SEC but that worm will turn and there will be no way for them to hide.

Right now they own us but that will change soon.

Maybe read the question again? I asked about lSU/Tulane.

Going out on a limb here, but I’m beginning to think aggy lacks in self awareness.
