Who says it’s without Saarloos? I mean it’s probably not, but he’s going to have a ridiculous budget to hire his assistants. He hired Vitello, Mosiello, Saarloos, & Mazey. He clearly knows how to identify strong coaches.

What's the overall difference in his scholarship yearly total at TCU vs Ag

Of course, that's not how college baseball works.

Cal State Fullerton pays their coaches next to nothing, and they've won a national championship something like every decade for like 40 years. They've had far more success than a lot of SEC programs -- and they don't pay jack squat.

Guess we'll see how it pans out. Given what I've seen around here, I'd rather lose Schloss than Kirk.

Kirk will likely take the head coaching position at TCU.

Hope he does. I respect TCU baseball, and want KS to get the job he was supposed to get years ago

Now wait just a dang minute. The Big 12? .aggy always refers to the Big 12 as the BDF and a total shite of a conference, one that they finally were able to escape from the bondage of and become free and become conference champs in all things in the SEC. A conference where aggy is able to show there expertise and true skill. Why would aggy take a coach from a shite conference? Yes, Schloss did win the conference but so what? Its a total shite conference, basically equal to the Mountain West or Big East. So where is JIM and his TCU baseball team playing this week? Not in Omaha, but THAT is an aggy tradition.

No much at all. They don’t have the programs like Vandy to offer a bunch of extra scholarships. Don’t get me wrong, the give out non baseball schollies but it’s still more expensive for the TCU players. Both TCU & A&M are at a disadvantage when compared to even Arkansas & Lsu. Y’all’s states offer way more discounts.

I think it's an open secret that Kirk was the coach in waiting when Schloss started to dip his toe in the water a few years ago. That's why he stayed and didn't bolt to the pros or to become the head coach at Rice.

I agree that’s the most likely hire, but it’s far from a lock.

Looks like LSU is going to go Godwin or Mcdonnell once their postseason run ends.

No, it's not. But the word around here was he was waiting for Schloss to bolt so that he could take over. He was the coach that was hands on for most of the season. TCU's run was derailed by injuries during the Texas series, and never did really recover. They basically limped into the championship, even though they still managed to win it.

@KendallRogers
One ramification of A&M’s decision, along with LSU focusing elsewhere for the time being, is that @Vol_Baseball will almost certainly hold on to Tony Vitello. That’s awesome news for the #Vols, and frankly, I think it’s good for the #SEC as well to have another strong program.

This leads me to believe we're going to get Bianco. Still better than Paul but very meh.. Unless we can snag McDonnell or they go with another guy with LSU ties in Godwin.

Paul runs circles around Bianco and I hate Paul’s in game coaching more than anyone.

Yes, but see the entire SEC is rich. Baseball coach salaries are on the rise, and it will soon be common to see coaches making more than 1.5M. Also, huge improvements coming to BBP as part of this deal. Which is good - we are behind in the SEC on baseball facilities

I know nothing about LSU baseball but if your current coach gets to the next round, or close, does he save his job? Is he retiring?

Not saying it's right or wrong but why do you all want him our so bad? Am genuinely curious.

Also seems like LSU would be a top college baseball job, wouldn't seem like you'd have to settle for anyone. 1 step away from the CWS and with a rich history it's proven someone could win big there on a regular basis

Paul revealed he has a health issue that has prevented him from coaching like he wants to. You can see it. Watching him looks like he has very little wind left in his sails to coach.

The general consensus is that it’s time to thank Paul for his time and contributions to LSU baseball, but move on and find someone with fire to reignite the program.

And yes, we understand we’re in the supers.
