Tons of HS and college baseball coaches that encourage their players to train and play with wood bats in the offseason. It makes you stronger and quickens your hand speed through the zone

Dont be a follower. Be a leader and don’t worry about what others do. It’s ok to enjoy something and have your own thoughts.

Neither did I. I thought the NCAA had deemed wood bats a safety hazard or something years ago. I will definitely tune in.

If we hit 1 home run everyone will swear up and done they are corked

We did it in a one-off 100 year anniversary game against Tulane back in 1993, but it's obviously very uncommon to see
Best I could find was a facebook post about it

LSU defeats Tulane, 5-2, in the first-ever “Turn Back the Clock” game at The Box. The teams wear early 20th-century replica uniforms and use wooden bats to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the LSU Baseball program. #GeauxTigers

Wooden bats are the only way baseball can be played.

LSU did a turn back the clock game vs Tulane when Skip was the coach, they used wooden bats and had uniforms from the 19th centaury, sold hot dogs for a quarter

The are legit unbearable.

I think all college games should use wood bats. It's not cost prohibitive. Might end up saving a pitchers life also.

I’ll be at the game Saturday and Sunday if you wanna come see me.

It is cost prohibitive, which is one of the main reasons why college still uses metal bats. There are 299 division 1 baseball teams. The vast majority of those programs don't have the athletic budget of an SEC program. A good wooden bat runs arounds $150-200. You're going to go through at least a couple dozen of those per player, per season. A good metal bat runs around $400-500. Some players will use the same bat their entire career. There's a huge disparity in costs, and for a non-revenue sport like baseball is for 99.99% of college programs, a lot of those programs can't afford to add another hundred grand or more to the budget for bats.

That seems like a small field for a Double A team. Also, it's interesting the Smokies play on Bermuda grass. I wonder why it's not an option at LNS.

Same. I've just given up on trying to get them to shut up or, in what is possibly an even more fruitless endeavor, trying to convince the rest of the board to not lump us all in with them.
