I wonder why it's not an option at LNS.

Tony wanted the turf installed because they were losing too many outdoor days to weather issues. I don't like turf, but it's hard to argue against the thought process or the results.

We did it in a one-off 100 year anniversary game against Tulane back in 1993, but it's obviously very uncommon to see

Very cool.

yeah they were. They wear something similar now when they do throwback nights, but they're not fitted to the era like those were with the 3/4 length sleeves, full collars, etc.

That whole night was cool. Had concession prices of the era, old-timey programs, baseball cards, everything.

I wonder how many of these players have never used a wood bat in their careers.

If people are doing that they're just giving y'all shite for the sake of it. The record speaks for itself.

Probably none. We used wooden bats in fall ball when I was in high school 20 years ago. The college summer leagues use wood bats as well

I’ve always wondered why college baseball doesn’t play with wood bats. Just seems like it would be a normal transition one should expect going from high school to college. Would prob help the transition for some of these guys into the minors. Wonder if it’s a cost thing or something?

That is correct. A friend of mine played at Georgia Tech. He said wooden bats were too costly. This makes sense with the number of bats a team would have to replace over the course of the season.

I always really enjoyed all wood bat tournaments in high school/Travel ball tournaments growing up. Makes the game more rewarding. Nothing like the crack of a wood bat.

I don't think I ever played a game in my life where wood bats weren't at least available laying around in the dugout

Should always use wood bats. College baseball is a joke
