I noticed Nebraska really hates OU I never knew there was feud between the 2 schools.
Tennessee has a lot fans over there in Nebraska.
I have no bad feelings towards either program.
Oklahoma has 3 game lead on us. We need this win this year.

Listen, I hate Tennessee - but this is not a troll thread. It is a coping thread

I can understand your need to live in the ancient past, but for the past FOUR seasons, OU has 12 losses while UT has eleven. All that while OU was playing a shite B12 schedule and UT was playing a top tier SEC schedule.

So if we're sniffing dogs arse, what is OU doing? Licking dogs balls?

I don't think Tennessee fans give two shits about the Heisman Trophy.

RPO is probably what he is referring to, scheme is qb friendly and set up to make 1-2 quick reads which is great when you can out talent teams but against elite D that consistently take those first two reads away it becomes more difficult. That’s not to say an elite qb couldn’t dominate with it, but it also enables very sus qbs to have heisman numbers against teams with a talent disadvantage.

Hank lauricella, Johnny majors, heath Schuler, and Peyton all got 2nd in the heisman. It is a bullshite popularity contest that most VOLS fans disregard at this point.

As an OU fan we can relate...

We have had six guys "all get second"... including your current head coach. And we've few other guys who got third.

Because of that....I'm sure we'd feel the Heisman was a bullshite popularity contest like you Vols do if it weren't for the seven guys we've had who actually won it.

Fulmer being so dirty cost Peyton the Heisman. People in general do not like Fulmer.

I think most people realize Oklahoma has a tradition second only to Alabama among current SEC schools and is only the second football blue blood in the conference.

This is true. Oklahoma has an awesome resume. Top 5 all time program.

2000 is almost as long ago as 1998.

I remember 2000 like it was yesterday, the excitement when OU knocked off #1 Nebraska, and still have the national championship game VHS recording.

Good times.

Who doesn’t have RPOs in their playbook today. Hardly a gimmick.

Except it’s not a pass dependent system. It’s very run heavy. Infact one of the complaints last year was that they threw too much with Milton.

The “gimmick” is to create mismatches. Hardly earth shattering. Spread the field, have 3 play options and go fast after a first down. Stay inside those 3 plays without subbing in guys and catch the D off balance. They stack the box, throw over them. They drop 7 or more run at them. They try to do everything throw eye candy at them till someone misses an assignment. But above all keep moving forward. To do this you need to be able to sub wholesale when you do so you can stay fresh. Oline conditioning and RB/WR depth is a must.

And now that they have helmet radio expect the game to speed up.

The way to beat it is with an outstanding front 7 that’s deep enough to blitz all game and just know you are going to guess wrong at times.

Manning deserved it and was screwed out of it .
Other than him we really have not had many contenders.
But we sent many many great players to the NFL

The Heisman has been awarded to many, many recipients who were the ONLY player on their team. Being as successful as Tennessee has been over the years without THAT player is very bit as impressive as having several Heisman winners. I despise Tennessee with as much heat as anyone but UT not having a Heisman winner is not a bad thing....UT has been very successful at times....with teams consisting of a team full of capable players being coached by great coaches. Many Heisman winners had incredible stats because they were the only thing on their team worth a shite.

ESPN had the Big 10 back then. They were worse than the MSM is now pushing Woodson. He was a great player, but had a lot of help from ESPN. I remember watching ESPN after the Kentucky game in 97, Manning went 25-35 for 525 yds and 5 TD's. They showed Jamal Lewis's stats after the highlights instead of Mannings. Did not even let people see his stats, and back then you could not look it up. I realized then that there was a real effort by ESPN to high jack the Heisman and Manning was not going to win.

Peyton got screwed, but at least Woodson was deserving and backed it up with a Pro HOF career.

Hard to believe that in SEC history, Tennessee has never had a player to win the Heisman, not even Manning.

Rigged "fake" trophy to legitimize the WC / B1G and PCC / PAC

Check how many Heisman winners were from Alabama or the SEC before 10 - 20 years ago. Heisman even coached at Auburn and The Bumbles when they were still in the SEC.
