Someone will pick him up, but this should serve as a warning for any school that looks at him.

I respect the hell out of Heupel and Tennessee for doing this.

Well, if they didn't do it then they would have looked really dumb and weak. A QB that was mediocre to bad last year and ended the season getting embarrassed in the 1st rd of the playoffs that was already paid millions of dollars is now asking for even more money and is holding out and deserting the team. Makes for a cut and dry decision IMO.

If they didn't do it then they'd just be making things worse for everyone.

Good for them. I’m rooting for Tennessee this year.

Footnote: Except against LSU or any scenario in which a Tennessee loss helps result in LSU post season advancement.

Glad to see a school not cave on this madness. Congrats Tenner.

He will not find a better situation. And he ruined his reputation. And he’s not even that good.

Something tells me once he flames out at his next school he’ll likely end up on the police blotter or something like that.

No matter if his dad was the reason he’s an adult and should have never went down this road.

Imagine his new teammates knowing he’s only about money and not winning. That won’t set well with them. Whoever gets him inherits a headache.

Good for them.

The school that signs him should be attacked without mercy...playing this game only fuels the problem.

Dumbass overplayed his hand, he wasn’t nearly good enough last year to play hardball.

Nico wasn’t worth the hype the vol fans were giving him but he’s not complete arse.

The question now becomes. Does Tennessee have a backup plan that doesn’t tank their season.

While I am bummed that our season is now a wash - I am damn proud to be a Vol right now and not get held hostage. Hope all of you have great seasons I just don't care anymore. Our sport is ruined

Will be funny if no one pays his price and he sits in the portal. Teams have to know whatever they pay him is a one-year deal and this will happen again next spring. This is a distraction that no team needs.

Not every Vol gets that title. Most do, but in circumstances like this, no one is going to be calling this kid a VFL

Will be even funnier if this costs him millions when the draft comes around. Hopefully he goes undrafted!

Hats off to Tennessee and Coach Heupel. I hope all schools follow his lead to do the same, but sadly, few probably have the backbone to do what is right.
