That inferiority complex needs stroking on the plains

Beat Bama in big lights

I sure hope they don't hire Hugh. Nick and staff can't handle that hurry up stuff.

I think it was more the god awful recruiting and coaching but what do I know?

Don't believe that would have saved him as you're still looking at a 7-6 record followed up by a 3-5 record, shite recruiting and power players who wanted him the frick gone.

But none of this may have been the case with that win against Alabama under his belt. All it takes is one big upset to get momentum going and make recruiting easier. He wins that game and his team gets some confidence they didn't have before, and on the recruiting trail he can sell playing time on a team that's on the upswing.

Instead it went the total opposite after that and the folks in the Auburn admin, boosters, and media essentially let the world know he'd be fired right then while letting him keep his job for another 10 months.

Between that loss and the Auburn-friendly media/administration doing what they did, Harsin didn't stand a chance to turn it around. His hands were tied behind his back after one season

Gus beat Bama 3 times

They still fired Gus the year after his most recent win over Bama. Because the problem was he would shite the bed in games outside of the Iron Bowl. Other than his first year in 2013, Gus lost at least 4 games outside of the Iron Bowl every single year regardless of the result of that game. That gets tiring after a while.

Not everything has to be about Bama.

He had a top 20 class his first full year, Gus had us in the 40s when we fired him. I don’t think Harsin was a bad coach X’s and o’s. His personality got him canned. Boosters were not gonna support him and with NIL that has a huge impact now.

He made zero 2nd half adjustments.

I still think Harsin is a good coach and will probably end up a winner again somewhere, he just wasn't a good fit at Auburn or in the SEC at this time.

He belongs somewhere with a little less pressure, on a smaller stage but still in the upper half of college football overall. He and Auburn's boosters/big money people were never going to work, he belongs somewhere like a Kansas State, Texas Tech, TCU, Boise, Colorado, etc. type program that can be in the conversation every so often but doesn't have all the pressure or focus on football the SEC does

The truth is that Harsin still had a golden opportunity to win that game. All he had to do is actually live up to his “4th and 1” mantra and have the balls to go for the 2 point conversion after that first TD in O/T.

I guarantee that the AU fanbase would have respected that decision win or lose. Instead he made the “safe” choice and still lost.

Pretty much all downhill for him from that point forward.

Harsin was in the middle of political crossfire between the president, AD versus the powers that be, from the beginning.

The beginning of the end for Harsin was the Miss State game. He had 3 winnable games after that one and lost all of them. Everyone just got so emotional after that but if he wins one of them, I don't think he's necessarily fired today.

Being 3-13 in the last 16 is what did him in

Harsin is a trash recruiter. I don't think Gus ever had a year lower than Harsin's best year. Let that sink in.

247 Composite

End of GUS

2019 - 11th
2020 - 7th

HARSIN

Harsin showed ZERO evidence that he could handle a Power 5 job. None.

Harsin has a losing streak to everyone in the SEC West. And they only East team he beat was Missouri, which handed him on the win.

Is that you, Kes?

Not understanding the importance of recruiting in the SEC is what got him fired and Tank staying in bounds would not have changed that.

This is true and don't let any of those shitfricks tell you any different. All Auburn cares about. All they've ever cared about is beating Alabama.

Their AD said playing Bama at home was the mountain top for them.
