As bad as putting Arkansas as number eight in preseason football just a few months after Petrino was fired.

I figured this was going to be a 1989 style run where they dominate the regular season but then LSU showed up and hung 2 losses on them in their regional (didn't have super regionals back then) and kept them out of Omaha despite only losing 5 games the whole year prior.

They have now exceeded the entire 1989 loss total and we still have 27 SEC games to play, the SEC tournament, and beyond lol.

Just to quickly take a break from laughing at Aggie, really impressive weekend for Texas and Bama. Sweeps in conference are always big, but a sweep on the road is mammoth.

This is where a lot of random mid week losses start coming. SEC schedule is tough

Some good matchups next weekend
LSU @ Texas
Georgia @ Florida
TN @ Bama

yeah I had hoped for 2-1 this weekend, didn’t think we could sweep, that will pay off later when Mizzou bites our arse

Very happy about this. We needed to get this SEC season started on the right foot after last year’s disaster.

LSU @ Texas

Should be a good series, I’m looking forward to it. I was puzzled by the weekend y’all had though.

1) LSU isn’t as good as I thought

or

2) Mizzou is better than I thought

or

3) The ball bounces funny sometimes..

I didn’t watch any of your games though.. sweeping anyone is hard though, I just didn’t expect them to hang around so long each game.

What say you?

Mizzou came into the game with their hitting being their strong suit and that showed to be true. Fielding was pretty much terrible, pitching was so-so.

The thing LSU did that allowed them to stay in the games were walks.

29-16 was the combined score. Wins are wins. Get the walks cleaned up.

ETA: Texas/MS State combined score was 17-11.

the only game they hung around was yesterday.

Friday, LSU took a 7-2 lead in the 4th, extended it to 9-2 in the 5th. Missouri cut it to 9-5, and LSU immediately scored 3 more runs.

Today, LSU jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 1st inning, Missouri made it interesting in the 4th, cutting the LSU lead to 5-3, but LSU scored 3 runs in the B4 and another run in the 5th to make it 9-4 and then 10-4 in the 7th. Missouri scored 1 run in the 9th

They weren't really in either game past the 4th inning. I guess if your barometer was they avoided getting run ruled then sure they hung around but 2/3 games weren't that competative

Not sure what your expectations are… this isn’t the big 12 where only 3-4 teams are competitive. Even though Missouri “sucks”, they still have SEC talent, and it’s baseball.

I didnt watch LSU /MO but I will say it was Windy as hell up here Friday all the way down to Mississippi. The ball was doing funny things in our game. We are ralking a pop fly to right may end up left center when it lands kinda wind.
