Buster Faulkner is on a big rise. Will be interesting to see if he gets a HC job soon. And will be also interesting to see how Florida does without him.

He won at Troy and Tulane. Probably going to get UF to being in the good category in the next few years. I wouldn't bet against him.

I wouldn't say he "really" wanted the Auburn job. In all honesty, I think Jon wanted the Alabama job but it wasn't open for him. That being said, he and Ginny are very happy in Gainesville.

He wanted the Ole Miss job. But Lane was dragging his feet on telling Ole Miss because he wanted to coach in the playoffs. Basically by the time Lane told Ole Miss it was too late and JS had taken the UF job.

His name is already being mentioned for the Georgia Southern job if they don’t have a good year.

Doubt Buster goes to Ga So at this point.
Not that it will be a deciding factor but he already makes double what Helton makes there.
Joe Craddock who's learning under Buster may be his replacement when he decides to leave or Kade Bell (Pitt).

Most people would want the UF job over Ole Miss. Most people. Not all. It is like comparing the UF job to the Alabama job. Most will take Alabama.

Idk, you have to have some confidence to want the Alabama position because of the whole Saban comparison. I think a lot were/are okay with not having that pressure.

I'm more worried about UNC and South Carolina at this point. I don't think he made a move to Florida to go to a G6 job.

I'm not disagreeing but understand the rosters and situations after the 25 season and Sumrall's familiarity with Ole Miss, the talks were already down the road. But he couldnt' wait any longer. UF wanted an answer and he couldn't wait. I don't think he is unhappy. Just wasn't his first choice.

Didn't Auburn try to lowball him due to that very reason? Golesh might turn out to be very good though.
