Sumlin to USC, Morris to A&M (Who says no?)

I don't think Sumlin would ever leave A&M, but if he were to leave would this be the most appealing job? USC has a top 5 market, storied tradition, and can potentially throw a boat load of money at Sumlin (A&M could probably counter with almost anything though). Sumlin also seems like the type of hire USC needs to make right now. Charismatic, great recruiter, and you don't have to worry about character issues.

If Sumlin ends up at USC, A&M has to go after Morris, right? I know he's only 1-5 right now at SMU but he inherited an absolute dumpster fire and would do really well recruiting the state of Texas and understands the tradition and passion of the A&M fanbase more than any other candidate considering he is an Aggie graduate. He also has an incredible offensive mind and would continue A&M's recent offensive success.

All that being said, I don't think Sumlin will say yes to USC, but it will be really interesting to watch if they start to make moves on him out in LA.

USC is a lateral move at this point. Don't see him going anywhere any time soon. He hasn't won anything yet, still has a lot to prove

As much as I would love to see the Aggies freak out, that seems like a lateral move with how long USC has been mediocre and aTm will match the money.

No NFL or bust for Sumlin. He just waiting until he wins something in the SEC so he will probably be there at least another 20 years.

They had their chance last time and we paid ridiculous amounts of money to prevent it from happening.

This time around there are hotter names than Sumlin even if you take Chip off the table.

It just isn't happening.

Haven't you heard? He's already turned down multiple NFL teams to stay at A&M.

Maybe, but I'm not sure how successful he'd be. Half of Sumlin's success is due to his recruiting abilities.

The only direction Sumlin is going at this point is down unless he starts improving

Money-wise it would be. Heck exposure-wise it would be, LA is about to get a NFL team and the PAC 12 Network sucks for distribution.

Sumlin will use this to steal a little more money from A&M.

Would be a lucrative job for him no doubt. Not too difficult of a schedule every year as opposed to the meat grinder we know as the South Eastern Conference.

Not sure why everyone thinks his next stop is the NFL - did he say something about that in the past?

why? more money? the Aggies are now in a position where the team practically recruits itself, bide his time waiting for Les to be chased out of town and Nicks nervous breakdown and it's smooth sailing.

USC is a top 5 coaching job. TAMU has no female cheerleaders. But I agree with the rest of your statement.
