Damn you NIU. How dare you look out for your own interests and win and get enough BCS voter+computer love.

Edit: And how bad would have Florida lost to Oklahoma?

this is the main issue, moving these BCS games to one night each is a shite show. Move them to the weekend. This wasn't a problem when the Fiesta, Rose and Sugar where all on new years day

I agree! I blame the BCS for not letting the individual Bowls (sans Rose 1998-2009) negotiate the TV contracts, instead it's a package deal with one network which means that you can't have the Fiesta/Rose and Orange/Sugar play simultaneously anymore.

Does anyone think the new deal in 2014 with a SEC vs. Big 12 matchup is going to change the attendance issues?

The Wednesday bowl is weird. I couldn't go because of work. If it had been part of the weekend I could have managed it.

It's really good SECR fodder so it serves an important purpose.

Our fans are spoiled though.

Florida doesn't travel well it is really that simple. According to the Rick Niehausel (SP) and Sirius guys they have not played a regular season game outside state of Florida in a decade. I think that is actually true. When fans get used to never having to travel out of state they get spoiled.

bullshite. Shitty fans don't travel. Bama travels well, so don't lump is in with Florida and LSU fans. I'm going to Miami so I can serenade sweet Notre Dame with the hymn known as Rammer Jammer.

By the end of the 3rd quarter there wasn't 30,000 and most were wearing red.

SI ran an article stating that if UF had to eat some of it's allotment of tickets then the bowl would cost them meaning that when the conference money was divided up a 3 - 9 Auburn team would have a better profit margin on the bowl than the 11 - 1 Gators.

UF didn't deserve to be there in the first place. Georgia should have gotten the bowl. Next time the selection committee will know better.

Wrong, the higher ranked BCS team got the bid and it was an automatic bid ffor being in the top 3 in the BCS standings so the selection committee couldn't have taken UG. Sorry we sucked it up but we deserved to be there according to the rules the BCS has in place.

Hmm. I'd like to see some of the Orange Bowl figures (not this year with Florida State)in recent years with some of the clinkers they've had.

You have to think this could hurt Florida's chances of a BCS bowl in the future.
If a bowl has a choice between them and another team, they would be hard pressed to take Florida if they are not an auto qualifier.

Just like LSU losing Monday night to #14 Clemson on the last play of the game was the biggest upset in sports since Chaminade beat Virginia.

It is all about TV. Why go to a bowl and shell out a couple thousand, depending on size of the group. Or, sit at home, drink whatever you want, be warm, finger bang your GF whatever...all while watching on a HD 51in LED tele that you can DVR. Plus economy sucks.

I told all you aggie and LSU fans who were arguing about BCS bowls that it was meh in my opinion. We have been to so many BCS bowls it really isn't a big deal anymore. Couple that with the fact that it isn't a short drive and mid week game + shitty economy in Fla = very bad attendance.

I knew UF did not travel, but this was ridiculous. 7000 for a bcs game... I was at the New Orleans Bowl this year and ULL brought 42,000.

Ya'll hadn't been to one in three years after having gone to three in four years. I really thought this would be a bigger deal for Florida, particularly considering yall's new coach. Very Florida State/Miami esque.
