Pretty sure that doesn’t “take effect” until they have a 270 coalition.

Then the Supreme Court would strike it down like the ridiculous law that it is. It would need a constitutional amendment to be legitimate.
Explain please?
Article II of the constitution says " Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct". With the compact, the legislature of each state involved is deciding the manner in which they wish to appoint their electors. Entirely constitutional, no amendment needed as it doesn't directly get rid of the electoral college, it just changes how some states choose their electors, which the constitution says they may do.

That's if states with 270 electoral votes agree to the compact. Which hasn't happened. Which means 0 states will follow that process for this election.

Drop the bombasity of Trump but retain his political views and their chances of winning a prez election are quite good. Hell, half the people voting for Biden is because they don't like Trump's "style".
I think Cruz would win traditional republican voters with that strategy.
I think he would lose a lot of the new trump voters with that strategy. They seem to be there for trump. I'm not sure if their enthusiasm would carry over to other politicians - I just don't see the new trump voters waving a flag with Cruz on it like they currently do. Maybe I'm 100% wrong but I think after whatever happens to trump, it'll be tough for the next republican to keep them in the tent, none of the other republicans seem to have the IT factor that they like with trump.

Cruz is either loved or hated.
Abbott is just sort of there, just like Cornyn. Nobody really cares either way about the gov or the other senator. But Cruz, it's on/off.

25th amendment sections 3 and 4. He decides or the VP and majority of cabinet decide.

Pelosi is pissing in the wind. Each State Delegation in the House gets 1 vote. Republicans have more State Delegations than Democrats do.

What if 1/3 + 1 states just didn't have any members there?

If you believe Biden has swung Ohio by 14.5 points in four years then I have a bridge to sell you!
A 11 vote swing in 4 years was reality, but a 14.5 swing is just completely out of the question?

The problem is that it won't be like the first time where there were clear cut state lines (I mean, they were somewhat fuzzy when you had things like the Nueces Masscare). If it happens again, there won't be clear cut state lines, it'll be split much more inside of states.

Balls. bullshite.

Wouldn't we want to understand the causes and maybe develop ways to fix the problem?
We get it, you don't like it. But what we don't get is why you wouldn't want to fix the problem instead of running around like you are on fire screaming.
As for the not villifying or condeming, they aren't taking a side. It's perfectly valid for someone to just present the facts without bringing out pitchforks.
