Idk I don’t recall Manziel being as mouthy in public as Pavia. He was more of a frat boy in college. I just recall a lot of pictures/videos of him getting wasted all the time, not talking about how awesome he is

Yeah, Johnny was pretty humble during his run, he just made immature and selfish decisions in his private life. He loved to party like so many college kids do, he sold his autographs to pay for the party and cost himself another year of college ball unfortunately

Wonder why you didn’t post Pavia’s rushing yards and TDs. Here I’ll help you out. Rushing yards 826 and 9 TDs. So 4018 yards total and 36 TD.

Not sure why y’all couldn’t get behind this guy. Talks too much ? Probably. But for a kid with zero stars and no recruitment to make history ( and at Vandy!) is mind blowing. You laugh at his height? All the more impressive for what he did. I wish all of us have kids and grandkids with half the determination and perseverance of Diego.

Don’t worry about his future income. He will be making lots of money as a coach after he goes for NFL/CFL.

Also great that no one here was covering the other awards.
Pavia won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Trophy.

Eli Stowers won the John Mackey Trophy as best TE and the William V. Campbell Trophy for combined excellence in academics and football.

I know this place is just to give each other grief, but it is stunning the disrespect when we do something that is good for the SEC and extraordinary for Vandy.

Pavia is the trashiest big name player since Manziel. The key difference being Pavia wont get drafted and doesnt have a heisman to fall back on

He linked this to his brothers getting arrested at games, suggesting their rowdy behavior was tied to winning, and they only slowed down when they stopped drinking, leading to losses.

You are wrong. Pavia often credits his teammates. Also, on the field and sidelines, you can see his encouragement to players and congratulating them on a good play.

Johnny Football was actually a fairly humble guy in college. He did like to party. He didn’t go around talking about how great he is.

Telling people what to do / not do, is the best way to ensure the opposite of what you want.

More importantly, the players around him raise their play.

My point is Manziel had more passing yards than Pavia and more rushing yards and TD than Love.

He blew Pavia’s rushing stats out of the water so it really wasn’t worth mentioning.

My overarching point is that it is was a very weak heisman year.
