What a bunch of pussies. Bama is clearly one of the best 4 teams. They deserve it over OSU, USC or anyone else. I fricking hate them but its a fact.

Bama over Clemson
OU over Dawgs

Bama over OU.

Then you all can cry again. Bunch of damn vaginas on here.

Why does AU have the most intelligent posters on the rant?

I am sure you will get downvotes, but it is true.

Alabama is a much better team than Ohio State.

Not sure why some don't want to acknowledge that.

Not sure I agree with your predictions, but the committee got it right.

I have no problem with it either way. It was down to OSU and bama and both had an argument. I am glad that the precedent was set that the Tourney can have two teams from the same Conf..

Both are very interesting match-ups. I am looking forward in seeing how it plays out.

Classy thread. The rant could use a little more intellectual integrity (not that the Bama/Auburn hate isn't fun, but it's good to inject a little rational thought in from time to time).

In honor of your spirit of integrity, I capitalized "Auburn" for the first time in months.

I don't think most AU fans are that upset AL got in. We may hate yall, but still know you have a damn good football team.

Again, I do not think Alabama will win it all this year, but have no problem putting them in the top four. And I think they could win it all, if the offense makes some changes.

BTW none of this erases the IB

I don't think LAnier is belittling GA, but when that Ok qb is hot, it is going to be very hard to beat them.

Depends on how you look at it I guess. One of the best 4? I think so...they handled everyone all year but Auburn and Moo State. I say I THINK so because they didn't play a very tough schedule. If it's about the best 4 though, yeah, they certainly were on the cusp and making it in isn't that surprising if that is the standard. I guess I thought the playoff was to serve as a mechanism thru which the champion was selected.

I guess I just don't see how you can win the national championship if you don't win your own state, or conference division, let alone conference. Not winning your conference should be a disqualifier until we have an 8 team playoff.

That said, if any conference should be able to get someone in that didn't win the conference, it's the SEC...and I won't argue that Bama isn't one of the 4 best teams.

Also, this particular year, there just were any dominant teams. No power 5 undefeateds and of the 4 in the playoff, the resume is as good as any I suppose

I am happy they created a playoff, but it was flawed when created.

Four spots and five conference champions. It will always leave a conference feeling screwed. This year, it leaves two feeling screwed.

It did not help that they put Ohio State in last year and then they got humiliated.

I still hope one day we get to six teams, just because then you could make sure conference champs matter and still leave room for either a great non-conf champ or a non-power five team.

But when it comes to Alabama, some try to remove the context.

Alabama may not have much in quality wins, but they only lost one game. And there is no other team outside of the top three that look as good as Alabama does.

IF Ohio State had not been beaten so handily by Iowa, they might have had a better argument, but they just never looked as good as Alabama.

There is no requirement to win your conference. That precedent was set last year.

Everybody needs to just pour your latte out and man up.

Thanks Lanier. Auburn had a bad week, and 2 things made it worse for many. Bama getting in, and getting UCF in the bowl game. I mean, I know Auburn is not as good on the road, I know they lost 3 games, but to make them play UCF, after their week, now that's just mean.

Meh.

If we wanted a better game, we should have won this weekend. Still we got a good enough location and a good day, hopefully the youngsters get a lot of playing time, we definitely need them to grow up quick (secondary and Oline especially)

IT sucks, I think attrition from amen corner took its toll on us. But that happens with every team.

I am curious to see how Alabama fans react in the Clemson game. Some of your fanbase seems to think Hurts is the worst thing to ever happen to Alabama, which is silly.

If Bama can beat Clemson then OU/Georgia... the only team in the country with less losses will be UCF, assuming UCF beats Auburn. They'll deserve the national championship at that point, and we will all focus on next year. Sure, there is a little luck involved.

Let's do a hypothetical. Let's pretend this 2017 Bama team is better than they actually are. Not great, still flawed, still have a shitty QB, etc etc. But let's say they were barely good enough to win the Iron Bowl. Now let's say this better version of Bama went on to lose a nail biter to Georgia. This better Bama team would have likely been eliminated from the playoff, for having the same number of losses, and their one loss being to a better team than the one they lost to in the non-hypothetical.

O well. That's the way it is. At least they will have two games to prove their merit. If they win out, good for them.

This is one of those years where I don't think anyone should say one team is the hands on favorite.

A little luck is always needed anyway. And yeah your hypothetical brings up some good points.

Bottom line is that unless you are undefeated, you always have to have some things outside of your control happen.

This is the first year I can honestly say I think all four teams have a real shot.

Some times the best teams don't play for championships. Isn't anyone fault but Bama all they had to do was beat auburn. Nick Saban cried and cried like a little spoiled brat and they gave him his cookie. What a scam

Indeed.

I'm just thankful that Lil' Nicky had to beg like a bitch ... beg ... like a dog ... beg ... like a little girl ... so that Bama could get their well-deserved welfare check.

While Georgia was earning their way in ... Bama begged for their hand-out...good for them, they got it.
