Dumb. Premiere League is a product of promotion/relegation only works in a tight ladder system and with an organizing body that has to do things like cups and international tournaments to keep the organizing structure viable.
Trying to pigeon hole college football conferences in to neatly sized groups and tightly control their schedule to create a neatly sized playoff is dumb.
Teams should be able to join whatever conference they want, that conference should be whatever size it wants, and teams should be able to maintain rivalries every year regardless of what division of conference their historical or regional rivals are.
Picking the best teams and calling it the “premiere league” is dumb because it undercuts what a table system does, determine one champion through round robin play and force competition throughout with relegation. This isn’t that. This might as well be an NIT of three conferences. It’s that dumb.
However, we should use the underlying of one soccer system, the “Champions League”, to save the bowl system by making every bowl extremely relevant even if it’s not a playoff bowl, massively expand the regular season relevance of every single team at every single level, maintain freedom and flexibility college football demands in scheduling and conference affiliation, and promote competition at a variety of levels.
This model embraces the inequity between leagues and teams and doesn’t try to shed the lesser teams to the side but use them to determine a true champion.

Off season idea right there

That said, I do favor a twelve game schedule, NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision games ONLY and an expanded playoff.
Schedules could be arranged to where your school played its 5 conference home games in a season where you played your P5 OOC opponent on the road. The other two games would always be at home, so every team would have 7 home games every year.
Haven't figured how to deal with neutral site games (either traditional like WLOCP or one-shots like the various 'kickoff classics') but I'm sure that could be worked out to everyone's satisfaction.

So, he basically wants to make DeLoss Dodds' attempted 2010 FudgePac Coup official?
Yeah...no thanks.

So... in other words combine the PAC-12 and Big 12 and cut the conferences in half?
East Division = ACC
South = SEC
Midwest = Big10
West=Big12/PAC 12
This doesn’t really change the ultimate outcome wherein the same 4-6 teams compete for the title while everyone else just hopes to keep making money off of the shared success

Right. Popular political opinion won’t in ANY way try to step in and stop this.
And what the hell is Miami doing there?

I actually like this. Because if you are not in the top 28 it gives you a concrete goal to actually work towards instead of being stuck in a never ending cycle of being decent but never making an impact on the national stage. That being said, I’m a premier league fan, so I’m biased. I also like this 8 team playoff a lot more. Especially with the top 2 from division concept. So if a team like UCF was in the top 28, they would actually have to beat the top teams to make it in. I think there are a lot of positives with this idea personally.

Sure it does. It will be near impossible for bad teams to have easy schedules and go undefeated and make the playoff. The 2 team per division thing makes it so that your entire season doesn’t ride on 1 game, so you can afford to lose 1 and still come second in the division. I think this makes it WAY more competitive and it would make the playoffs more fun to watch because you would have 1s vs 2s in the first round so there would be clear underdogs and division favorites.

The teams that could get promoted like a Miss State or Washington State will not have the rosters capable of staying in the top league because their recruiting will be shite while they are in the lower tier.
Expand the playoffs to 8 teams and call it a day.

Athens, Georgia is further east than Tallahassee, Florida. So Georgia to the East & Florida State to the South.

Ok then give up your precious rivalries and start playing Oregon State and Iowa State instead. Knock yourself out.
