Yep. Underwood taking the payday at Michigan was a blessing in disguise for LSU.
Huge difference in these situations. By Underwood spurning LSU when he did, it allowed LSU to take that $$ and use it on more quality players in the winter portal when most good players are looking to move. The players LSU signed went though winter workouts, spring practices, etc to acclimate to the program.
This leaves Tennessee in a much bigger bind. They have to go find a player in the spring portal (where only a few high quality players are available). Plus.. in the spring portal all SEC players are off limits. Makes the process of replacing a starting QB lost in the spring, much more difficult.

I think this is my last year as a season ticket holder without a massive overhaul of the current system. Better things to do with my time and money if this is what it is going to be.

From a Bama perspective I wanted him to stay because outside of Ewers at Texas I think he was the most overrated player in the conference.
He’s never become what he was hyped to be and what he has been is a mediocre or worse QB.
Just off the top of my head I’d take the following guys over him:
-Sellers
-Lagway
-Manning
-Nuss
-Simpson/Russell
-Mateer
