OU has the top stadium and facilities in the SEC tied with A&M

Oh boy are you in for a rude awakening on this one. Our WR that just transferred to OU even said after he got there that he was surprised that Arkansas had better facilities than OU. That was just a few months ago so I really doubt you’ve blown the doors out since then.

Downsizing of stadiums will be the new trend. More chair seating and skyboxes.

I think that’s coming my friend. In Red Stick, Tuscaloosa and yes College Station… the upper decks (particularly) the top rows are not full.

Expanding stadium sizes, at this point, seems to be a waste of money. Attendance has been on the decline for years - with most folks opting to stay home and watch the game on their large flat screen/projection TV and save the expense. I think most schools will really start focusing on improving the amenities within their stadiums, rather than expanding at this point.

UK, Arizona State and Stanford have done exactly that. UK reduced seating in favor of more boxes and seats with backs throughout the stadium. UK can match OU plush for plush. Ours is stuctured like a pro stadium now, meant to enhance the game day experience. We also have a unique area of the stadium devoted to recruits.

One of the best game day experiences in my 40 years of traveling to visiting teams… Kentucky!

Will the Horns Up ego drive them to increase capacity in Austin to try to keep up with their new neighbors (like aTm did after expansion - remember...Kyle Field held 83,000 in 2012), or will they be happy knowing that "everything is bigger in Texas" only applies to the Aggies in this instance?
Texas is putting together the finishing touches on their south EZ. It should be just north of 100k but I think still will be 4th or 5th in the SEC by a few chairs, which I’m pretty sure they’re fine with.

In all honesty, the potential was definitely there to make it upwards of 110k but they chose to go with luxury seating and more concourse instead, which I think just about everyone is fine with.

A bloody big stadium is a bloody big stadium in the end

Similar to what MSU did with their terrace. Davis Wade is a good place as well. I think Aubie is considering the same thing after the Football Performace Center is built.

We're supposed to be announcing a major renovation of The Swamp in the not too distant future, and the expectation is it will include reduced capacity in favor of chairbacks and better seating options.

Only one SEC school has spend as much as OU on facilities and that’s A&M. The rest don’t have anywhere close to 500 mil in disposable income for upgrades.

Man you have a lot to catch up on. We are rich as frick in this conference. that's not even looking into our donors. Wal-Mart and Tyson has frick you money.

Yep. Schools will have to add comfort amenities that stops people from staying home and watching on their 70" TV's.

This....suites/boxes, views, and overall experience will be more important than going from 85k-92k

I’m not sure OU is top half of the SEC. clearly behind A&M, Bama, & Lsu. Probably tu & UGA too.
