John Forney. Nobody compares to him for me. He could paint a picture with words. I will never forget 1971 Alabama vs USC, Bama had changed to the wishbone, but it was a secret. I could envisiion the formation just from his description. Man him , Munson, and John Ward were classics.

The Voice Of The Tigers, John Ferguson.

I was a DJ at a radio station in Alabama in the 70s that was part of the Alabama Networt and occassionally I ran the board during games. It was as exciting as being there. Eli Gold has done a good job but John FOrney remains the Gold Standard for radio netork play by play.
