The best pulled pork comes from NC, and it isn't close.

Who makes the best corn bread down souf?
I do. My grandmas recipe. I also make it in her cast iron skillet. A set of skillets and flat irons was given to her as a wedding gift in 1901. I inherited them. They have never been washed with soap and never will.

I've gone this for years. But my wife gets mad at me when we play UGA, State and Aggie...

Technically, REAL NC pork is chopped, not pulled.
(I was born in SC and Grew up in NC so I feel distinctly qualified to comment in this...)

Mizzou peeps, how can you frick up both pizza and ravioli?
Come to St. Louis and get some toasted ravs on The Hill - you will probably change your mind. As far as the Pizza - I've been in StL 30+ years, and still working on that.(it is an acquired taste). If you get a good one (i.e. something/anything other than Imo's) St. Louis style Pizza it's pretty good, but I understand those that don't like it.

North Louisiana hot water cornbread is second to none...(They call them hoecakes in Memphis). Put them on top of turnip greens or red beans with smothered steak & onions on the side - all with rice. Have some sweet potato pie for dessert.

Haha. I was working in Ohio a couple years ago and we had some EPA women from NY and Cali who had never had biscuits and gravy so I bought a propane camp stove and a toaster oven to cook for them them. Then had to show them how to eat it lol.

Haven't made it for a tailgate, but swamp cabbage
Not sure if you have the ability to cut down a cabbage palm, but you can get by with heart of palm at the store.
There are many different ways to make it, but the best is with milk.

New Orleans is definitely special food wise in this country. Especially considering it’s not really a big city. It would be in most people’s top 5.
In a prior job, I visited nearly every city in this country - and New Orleans would be #1 on my list - the food is amazing, and it is authentic and unique to the region which you don't get many other places.

Yes, chili is definitely a southern tradition
But he needs to put beans in it...
That way he can have it all to himself... because his fellow Texans won't touch it.

Dales Marinade is an Alabama concoction. First made in B’ham. Better like the salt though.
Dale’s used to have a steakhouse in Florence, AL. It was really good, but they put Dale’s marinade in everything. Of course, the steaks were heavily marinated in it. The French onion soup had a Dale’s flavored broth. Even their house salad dressing had Dale’s in it.

I have a lot of friends and relatives who live in or are from, Texas. Putting beans in chili is about 50/50 with them.

Everybody has heard of chocolate gravy. But my grandma made tomato gravy.
Yes, tomato gravy is great too! All I know is I've been all over the country, and much of the world, and have not run into many people that have heard of chocolate gravy.
Maybe it's more of a cultural thing than a reginal thing.
