So with Year 1 of the SEC on ESPN/ABC drawing to a close, how do people feel about it?

(a) How did you initially feel when the agreement was reached?
(b) Do you feel better/worse about it after a full season of it?

Pros:
-We know more game times further in advance (benefit on 1 provider airing all SEC games)
-No Gary Danielson
-SEC game of the week is at night and not 2:30 (and not noon like poor B10)
-all your team's games can be streamed on one app (ESPN app or tv provider that has ESPN) - B10 fans need NBC, FOX, and CBS
-No Gary Danielson (its worth a second mention)
Cons:
-ESPN plays a poor man's version of the SEC on CBS theme song (props for trying)
-Production quality isn't as high as CBS, but better than I expected.

I feel like it’s basically a triple header of 3 games that interest me

It's ok I guess?
Nothing unique or attention-grabbing.

For me, it has been everything I imagined when the move was announced. I recall being happy about playing Arkansas and Texas A&M regularly again as well as thinking how cool it would be to play the likes of LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida in the regular season.
I love being in a conference with other schools with large, committed fan bases. The sole minus is I don't love SEC Network broadcasts but that is a minor quibble.

Agree with both of these posts for sure. They did a good job of differentiating the SEC/ESPN games from the rest of CFB on ESPN as well. I was pretty concerned about it just feeling like the SEC games were just part of college football in general on ESPN, but they made it clear in a variety of ways to both showcase the SEC separately and create graphics and the like that make it clear there was a difference.
Also definitely felt like the visual improved quite a bit from prior years. I don't remember any games where we got the horrid camera that seemed to show up 1-2 games a week in prior years. Not quite the CBS camera work, which is the best in the business, but very high quality across the board (which means they made an investment, because it was not that way before).
Really liked all the TV crews aside from Tessitore/Palmer as well.

Much much better than I expected. No, the picture quality isn't as good but there's no Gary Danielson so I consider that a tradeoff. There were big games on multiple channels at the same time, followed by more big games on multiple channels. CBS kind of kept that from happening with the 2:30 slot.
We are in a much better place visually and the numbers showed it.
Now, they just need to pay us for that 9th conference game.

The ability to schedule games all throughout the day, including deciding that the big game of the week will be at 7 PM any week on the schedule, is great.
The CBS block on no other games allowed between 3:30 - 7 really put a hamper on the rest of the schedule. Being able to have games at 12, 1230, 330, 430, 7, 730 is really nice.

I was fine with it, because it allowed for marquee games to be flexed into prime time slots and awarded more night games.

It was nice to not have to switch channels constantly between CBS, Espn and SEC Network. Miss the CBS college football music and production quality.

Yes. I got to watch more good games throughout the day instead of them all being crammed into 2 timeslots.

As a cable cutter, I've loved the new package.
SEC triple header on ABC every week is much better than 1 CBS game a week.
It's nice to control the media narratives for the conference as well with ABC/ESPN tied to the SEC.

You can put ABC on after college gameday and go straight with 3 big SEC games. Plus the best game is at night every week. Much better

No verne and gary.
No dumbass lesbian whose voice is as bad as the lead singer of a death metal band.

Verne is a national treasure. Verne also hasn’t called a college football game in 8 years.

My three biggest complaints:
1. Subpar camera angles and video quality (especially when things go to video review)
2. Don't show enough replays
3. Games overlapping because ESPN/ABC can't properly schedule enough time between games

Big improvement, IMHO

I'm pretty meh tbh. We always had a mix of Fox, ESPN and LHN in the Big 12, and I enjoyed the Fox broadcasts the most.
Tbh I was looking forward to finally being a part of SEC on CBS, and I do think they put in a bit more effort than ABC.

ABC struck gold with the SEC, especially this year when there was so many wild games. And the SEC fans struck gold by getting away from Gary and Vern. AND getting the best games moved to at night like they should have been all along.

The few times I have tuned into a Big Ten game on CBS, it was so boring. Gary and Brad were just dull, but that might have more to do with the boring Big Ten. But it was painful to watch.
