I know this has been touched on, but i was just curious what everyone had to say now that it's been a couple of days. Personally I thought it was a very exciting game. The only thing is the big plays that were made were all on defense (interceptions, sacks, tackles behing the l.o.s.) rather than on offense. Of course, I was in the student section and screaming as loud as I could so my opinion could be different than the average viewer.

It was incredibly intense. I was on my feet in my living room or on the edge of the couch beginning to end.

Not for us. I can tell you that we were as glued to this game as any I can recall and some of us have been watching for 30+ years. Those that say to the contrary because it wasn't 56 - 45 just don't know good quality defense and football. Some of us that played the game and study it know better.

I enjoyed it and was intense and into it from start to finish.

However, national perception is it was boring. I talked to a director at my firm this morning (Notre Dame grad) and he said it was extremely boring and hates the rematch idea. I think that is the national perception.

I think if you had a dog to pull for in the fight it was entertaining. I am not sure if people who didn't care about either team would have found it very exciting. Great defensive games don't usually entertain those who have no dog in the fight.

Unless you're an Boise St, Oregon, or disgruntled arky fan, I don't see how you can call that game boring.

Was it as exciting as Kansas St/Okie state? Of couse not, but certainly not boring

I think it was boring for uneducated fans. For people who know football, it was a classic.

New age football fans will think its boring because the score wasn't 45-42, but if you are a true football fan who can appreciate a defensive struggle, it was a hell of a game.

Agreed. Anyone who said it was boring doesn't know football.

If all you know about football is from playing Playstation and watching the Red Zone channel, perhaps it was.

Otherwise, for anyone who knows anything else about the game besides just than that, it was incredible.

I was at the hogs game so I didn't watch...

75% of my friends who watched said it was a snoozer.. the other 25% said it was the greatest game ever[granted, they were lsu fans]...so I dunno.

I agree completely. I think maybe the presnap penalties are what some people use to say the game was sloppy, and therefore boring. But the execution of both defenses was perfect all game. I've never seen anything like it, where the best offense was a good defense (field position was huge).

Interesting comments. You might have read mine above. Agree with you 100%.

I found it boring. But I also predicted a low scoring game. So I wasn't that surprised

It was boring for everyone who has been conditioned to think that football is only interesting if neither team plays competent defense and thus slightly above average quarterbacks, running backs and wideouts are able to put up 1000 yards of offense and 100 points every game. (See, for example, Oregon vs. anyone but an SEC opponent).
