One of the most tense games I have watched.....and for people saying the offenses were terrible, check the stats. Both of these teams avg 40 pts per game on everyone except each other. The defenses are just so much better than everyone elses it is ridiculous.

I think a lot of non-SEC fans were looking for any excuse to say the game was boring...or any chance they could bring down either team...they are sick of the SEC and a perceived SEC bias
They could have thought it was the most entertaining intense game this year and been extremely impressed...they would never admit it to their buddies or the public...they want to drag the SEC and its teams through the mud any chance they can get

I was really looking forward to this game. My wife wanted to go out to eat, but I talked her into staying home to watch it. For some reason I fell asleep in the first half. I'm not saying the game was boring, but if it had been really exciting, I never would have fallen asleep.

Only people that seem to find it boring are Big 12 homers who think that you have to score half a hundred for it to be exciting.

It was a boring game. I hated it almost as much as the Auburn/Arky game from last year. Score a couple of TD's and play some defense.

Not to me. It was good football, with drama to boot.

With about 10:00 to go in the second qtr it was pretty obvious there was a good chance this would literally come down to one play.
Low scoring does not equal boring.

"Minnesota Fan", I rest my case.

Totally agree. That was real football. I thought it was a great game, but even though I Tivo'ed it, I don't want to watch it again.

I thought it was a good game. I enjoyed watching two very good teams play a close game. I would have preferred a little more scoring, but overall I liked it.
But the thing is, this game had a ton of casual fans watching b/c it was so hyped up. For the majority of them, it didn't live up to the hype. Casual fans like offense and there just wasn't enough scoring to hold their attention.
For instance, my girlfriend fell asleep. I also got a text message from a buddy who is not a big college football fan, but he made a point of watching the game and he said he was not impressed and he felt like the game was decided by bad decisions, not good play.

If you didn't know football, probably boring. But I was there; nothing boring about that game.

I thought it was a fantastic game. People who thought it was boring are probably Pac 12 or Mountain West fans who don't know what defense is.

I was able to watch, but without sound. From that perspective it did seem boring because there were not a lot of plays to watch especially on replay.
The OT was the only interesting part...

I think most Bama fans would have preferred a tiny bit more scoring, especially on the Bama side.
It reminded me of 1979. It was a defensive slug fest also, and Bama won 3-0.

I could see non-SEC people thinking it was boring in the same sense that I thought the FSU v OU game was boring. I wasn't too interested in the teams and nothing really happened. It felt like the offenses weren't being stopped, but stopping themselves.
Our game; however, just showcased the 2 best defenses in the nation and it was clear that was going to decide the game. Either way, I don't care, I thought it was awesome.

It was only boring if you can't appreciate good defense.

It's a great game that a football fan should appreciate. Makes the defenders look like the superstars for once.
However, I can say from our AU/MSU 3-2 game that a defensive struggle like this is as intense as intense gets. You honestly convince yourself that if you give up a score, you'll lose.

Scoreboard wise, but if you can have a "lopsided" 3-0 game, this was it.

"I think it was boring for uneducated fans. For people who know football it was a classic."
About sums it up, with resounding truth.
What we saw was a unique, precision defensive
battle,eye-to-eye and on equal footing. One breakdown, one mistake would have made the difference at any time. If you just enjoy watching numbers go up on the scoreboard, it was not your game. I found it one of continuous fascination, with both teams bending but always recovering. True classic you may never see again.
