He’s a fraud just like his old boss Dabo

Sounds like a good deal for OU, which is the team Venables is paid to look out for.

Doesn’t sound like this player has the character to play for stand up guys like Dabo and Ven-abo.

He's asked recruits to not commit to Oklahoma if they still plan to take visits. He doesn't want them committing until they're 100% serious. What does this have to do with other players around the country who still want to exhaust their official visits to Oklahoma?

He’s a POS. Perfect fit for a POS school like OU.

This means so much coming from a historically overated program like a&m. And oh by the way, a program that considers 4 losses a success lol

Maybe the ND coach should tell his guys to actually commit to his school like Venables?

What if a 17 year old verbally commits to OU and then his position coach leaves?
What if a 17 year old verbally commits to OU and OU struggles this season developing NFL talent?
What if a 17 year old verbally commits to OU and the new position coach at Bama next year gives him a great recruiting pitch?
What if a 17 year old verbally commits to OU but gets a new girlfriend in South Florida?
The concept that 17 and 18 year olds have a concept of stability and shouldn't have buyers remorse and shouldn't take more visits to confirm what is best for them is the type of thing that OU fans will change their tune on in 3 years tops (probably 2).

Tbh, all head coaches are hypocrites in recruiting.

Leave it up to the recruit who cares what you think if it works it works if it doesn't it doesn't.

Agreed.
I'm on record that OU fans won't agree with coach on this in 3 years (possibly 2).
Kind of like Florida fans who turn on every coach at the first sign of embarrassment, OU will turn on the strategy when tension with 2 athletes spread to other new recruits and the strategy becomes a negative recruiting tool by kids (not other teams)

The part that the OP doesn't realize and the writer of the linked article doesn't tell is this.
If you tell Venables that you still want to take visits...
Then he won't take your commitment. He will tell you to go ahead and make those visits first and then decide.
So it's almost the opposite of the claim. Venables wants you to shut it down if you are going to commit. But he doesn't WANT you to commit unless you are ready to shut it down.
