Miles is arguably a top-5 coach, but this list looks better than Athlon.

quote:

No. 1 -- Nick Saban, Alabama
No. 6 -- Steve Spurrier, South Carolina
No. 9 -- Les Miles, LSU
No. 12 -- Mark Richt, Georgia
No. 15 -- Bret Bielema, Arkansas
No. 18 -- Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M
No. 24 -- Will Muschamp, Florida
No. 30 -- James Franklin, Vanderbilt
No. 35 -- Butch Jones, Tennessee
No. 37 -- Hugh Freeze, Ole Miss
No. 52 -- Gary Pinkel, Missouri
No. 55 -- Gus Malzahn, Auburn
No. 61 -- Dan Mullen, Mississippi State
No. 90 -- Mark Stoops, Kentucky

After Saban at number 1, there's Meyer, Chris Peterson, Bob Stoops, Brian Kelly, Spurrier, David Shaw, Pat Fitzgerald, then Miles.

One 6-6 season will get you #37?

Did Sandra Bullock get a ranking too?

Good list. Or at least better than Athlon's. I'd have Sumlin higher.

Not bad. Most of the SEC coaches are still in "wait and see" level.

I'd probably put Miles 1 or 2 spots higher if I made it. Sumlin is still a pretty new coach tho.

Thanks for the input. But I still would not trade our coach for anyone, even Saban (because Saban is getting up in age and is not as hungry as a younger man). I am very happy with our baseball coach too. Who wouldn't be?

7-6, and don't forget that he was 10-2 the year before at ASU. If Gus goes 7-6 this year would you argue wth him being at 37 next year?

So you're telling me if we have a coach draft by athletic directors, Sumlin is 18th off the board. Not buying it. I bet who goes top 10.

Yeah, I have a problem with that, as well as Brian Kelly over Spurrier. Chris Peterson is kinda high too.

Yeah this is stupid. Spurrier's accomplished way more than Kelly.

Mullen deserves to be higher IMO. I like Mullen.
