Why should Sumlin be higher?

He's never even won a conference he has coached in

No. 61 -- Dan Mullen, Mississippi State

Is this ranking based on Mullen's body of work or the history of our program.

No way Mullen should be this low. When he leads state to a bowl this year he will be the first coach in Msu history to go to 4 straight bowl games.

Most over-rated coach in the country. If Arkansas had hired him, I would join Hawgalude on the fire Jeff Long bandwagon.

ETA: He wasn't even on the radar as a top 25 coach last year, he had one good year with a superstar (kinda like Gene Chizik) and now everyone is drooling over him.

Perceived lack of success? He's punished because he coaches what's been a weaker team in college football's best division.

Better, but Bielema should be forced to win in his current conference before cracking the top 20. It's not like he's going from the Big 10 to the Big East.

He finished with a higher final AP ranking in his first year in the SEC than Bielema ever did in the weak arse Big 10.

Bielema might succeed, but Sumlin has already shown an ability to win in this conference. Bielema hasnt.

What the frick has Gus done to justify being so high? No way he should be 55, or above Mullen.

Mullen is about to start free falling in these rankings. Dude will be lucky to make a bowl this year.

Another 9-10 win season at ATM and Sumlin will be the first coach out of SEC to NFL.....Especially since Rooney Rule not working as well as thought.

Having said that, very good innovative coach

So this coach ranking list is a little better.

Gotcha. So '07,'10,'11 like didn't count. I see.
And Saban's lucky wins in '08 in OT, '09 thanks to the Red Refs, and '12 were reeeeeeeal 'shite-stompers,'
Talking about the phrase 'when it counted.'
Oklahoma State won their conference championship in '11 "when it counted."
LSU won their conference championship in '11 when it counted.
The MulliGumpTeabagNeckSkoalJuiceChinToothless things came in THIRD in their conference in '11.

But thanks to the giggling group of BCS Human Poll Voters that put OSU 5th or 6th, the GumpNecks somehow end up in N.O.
