He finished with a higher final AP ranking in his first year in the SEC than Bielema ever did in the weak arse Big 10. Bielema might succeed, but Sumlin has already shown an ability to win in this conference. Bielema hasnt.

What championships has Sumlin won?

I'll take 3 BCS conference championships all day long over 2 conference USA runner ups.

I'm sure any idiot would.

Gene Chizik had a good year in the SEC once also.

Overall coaching body of work, Sumlin doesn't have the resume of Beliema.

7-6, and don't forget that he was 10-2 the year before at ASU. If Gus goes 7-6 this year would you argue wth him being at 37 next year?

No, 7-6 at Auburn gets you a few grim looks and people in charge checking to see what temperature you need to turn the stove up to to get the seat to a steady simmer, if needed.

7-6 at Ole Miss gets you a contract extension, admittance to the Ole Miss Football Hall of Fame, and blow-jobs by Ole Miss coeds in The Grove.

Difference.

Just wait until we beat LSU he will move up to Number 2 behind Saban

We are waiting.

I don't know how you rAnk Gus that high or low when he has only coached one year and not at a major division. He may be a top ten coach before all is said and done but as of right now he has had one year at Ark State.

So LSU didn't get lucky in '07 when Wilson fumbled on the 2 yard line? The "interception" in '09 would have led to a 9 point touchdown? I could also say LSU got lucky in '10 when McElroy fumbled. They also got lucky in '11 when a receiver ran the wrong route and led your safety right into the pass from Maze to Williams. The last several years there has been hard fought close games. The thing that separates the two programs right now is 1/9/11 but that put a good size separation.

Stoops #4? If we had an opening I wouldn't mind taking him but good grief he has done less with more for the last 5 or 6 seasons.

One 6-6 season will get you #37?

Hey look! Another idiot who thinks that Hugh Freeze has only been a Division 1 head coach for a year!

Yes, you're right in that he hasn't been doing this for that long, but over two years as a D1 head coach his record is 17-8. That's not bad at all, especially considering the expectations of the programs he has led.
